I'm sorry I sound like an idiot but I keep getting the black screen with the error message 7000 (Channel not available) Can you please from installing the sprint TV, explain more in detail about the rar file? For some reason, I believe I'm pasting the wrong folder. Am I pasting the cache folder that came in the zip folder (Sprint TV 1005 cab)? Please help me, I want to be a part.

this is funny. snitch?

maybe Sprint has staff watching this very public thread and is using it to let hackers test their product so they can improve the security?

I know I would do it.
Maybe I have. How would you know?

LOL

Sprint TV

Can anyone help me with my mogul? I downloaded everything and replaced the cache, it opened and showed the little movie, I went to sprint channels, but then it just froze there. I tried more channels, and again all I got was "loading" but nothing happened. Am I missing something? Thanks!

They have been filtering subscriber info since day one as this is a MobiTV powered product. Validation didnt just appear because of this app being released into the wild, its commonly how they handle app based subscription services. Everytime you establish a data connection subscriber info is used to validate your access, everything you do is logged and filed temporarily.

There were additional steps taken prior to the launch of the Touch in an attempt to stop non-sprint subscribers from using the app. This is when the cache tweak came about. The deletion is more about memory release than security. It just so happens that part of the subscriber info is in the cache which appears to be why it works for a time being when the cache is replaced.

I am not sure why you say you disagree with me when i say it never fully worked. the evidence speaks for itself. If it fully worked then we would not have these posts and these never ending discussions would we? You would happily be watching your premium STV services without paying for it and without issue wouldnt you? if it fully worked it would not be necessary to reload the cache, would it? The cache works until its updated by the system or deleted then you have to reload it, far from a permanent solution. However i do agree, clearly it works as a temp solution.

Sure there is hope for this, if you can monitor the data stream as well as the subchannel info handed by the phone to the network you may be able to emulate the process, but heck cloning a touch esn would just be easier.
It's semantics. I don't think you understand what I am saying. The hack did work regards if one needed to change cache. People were able to watch TV. If people were able to watch TV then you must agree that it worked regardless of how they did it, it did work. If I recall when it stopped working the 1st time was because they zapped the the TV, then there was a hack, so sprint came up with secruity to zapped the cache and check subscription, or channel is not available 7000 code so another hack came out and it worked again. But now there is a VID issue. If this secruity check was there in the first place then one would have rec'd the "VID" before but no its a NEW security check. And this is the first time I've seem this VID. So what I am saying is that SPRINT is monitoring this. If there is a hack to make it work again SPRINT will come out with a new secruity check period. That is all I am trying to say.
PS. I was happily watching TV until SPRINT came out with this NEW security check. And I think many other people were happily watching it until this new secruity check. But I am sure there will be another hack before SPRINT offers it next year. And I am sure that SPRINT will come out with a secruity check again. You must realize it's a cat and mouse situation as with all hacks that cost company $$$. They will come out with security to prevent it.

If you thoroughly read both these threads you will see that i have been contributing feedback the entire time. I have no control over the fact users are not reading whats been posted, dont believe the info as its not what they want to hear and instead prefer to "beat a dead horse" so to speak.

If you understand how this app and its service work then it would make sense what i am telling you here (short of cloning your handset to a Touch ESN, i imagine that would work). Rather than continuing to repeat myself you can search my posts and see for yourself.

As a personal retort, It is apparent and clear what my insight is doing to assist, but what exactly are you doing to positively contribute?

Lastly if you really "want to achieve your goal" then i would recommend you upgrade to a Touch, sign up with MobiTV or switch to a carrier and handset which actively support your needed features.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.
If that helps you rest at night.

But the facts remain.

From the TITAN forum, it seems that colonel's custom rom has the SPRInt TV which works.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=13209

I don't think SPRINT can zap that one........ as that rom has been out for awhile.

How are you positively contributing?

Gosh, i dont know how to help you guys understand this...

This is network related and not so much application related.

Being burnt into a ROM has ZERO impact on it, you still authenticate using susbcriber handset information.

I have been real patient here. I am not going sink to your level and take this personally, instead I shift to burden of proof to those of you who think you have the proper solution.

How about you provide some evidence as to why i am wrong as opposed to simply attempting to spout "Semantics" and hoping that be that. I completely understand what you are saying, you dont seem to want to hear my responses.

My info is based upon/comes from real life experience working with the network engineers and application engineers, not to mention my conversations with my carrier counterparts about this application.

Where do you get your information?
How do you know your information is correct?
Are you a paid expert?
Are you a recognized authority in the industry?

Obviously the work around no longer works, duh, and it will be someone other than either of you two (or me for that matter) who will provide yet another work around, if there even will be one. Then that work around will cease to work and the game will continue. No different than the old days of hacking DirectTV , except quite a bit easier I would suspect. And eventually, the application will be strengthened such that no work around will work. Or if there is a work around only a few secretive people who know enough not to share it with anyone either via posts here or IRC will keep it to themselves such that it is not circumvented. There are two easy solutions, other than having a pissing contest with each other...

1) Get MobiTV (if you're cheap use the trial version with the reset)
2) Wait for the next workaround to be posted by whoever is probably working on it (that is if one is every posted)

For Christs sake, it is only stupid TV people, get a grip...
