Do you mind saying how you made it the default SMS app?

Awesome, I am loving this app. It it fast and plays well with keyboards! Except it seems to start htc keyboard in abc mode instead of xt9.

CANNOT wait for the dev to roll out the touchscreen friendly version, I am going to hold out on purchasing until that happens.

This sounds very promising if the developer can make it work with the Touch so that it works in conjunction with the HTC Home Plugin. Basically as long as the SMS alerts on the home plugin still work and assuming you can tap on the SMS icon in the plugin to go directly to this app, I'll be all over this. I like that you can use PCM keyboard with it too since that's my preferred input method (it seems to be a tad more repsonsive and accurate than spb for some reason).

well all the sms registry keys still work, its just a matter of changing any links from regular sms inbox to the extreme text program.

Like for me i have an rlToday skin that calls the sms unread count and it used to link to tmail.exe no i changed the link to the extreme text program.

Someone mentioned this already, but could you let us know the full path for this in the registry? I did a search and couldn't find it.

Thanks.

I sent a text on xtreme and got the reply on the CodyPPCThreaded App. Is there a way to disable the Threaded app and have everything sent to Xtreme? or do i have to uninstall the Threaded app? Also where exactly do i go in my registry to change my SMS softkey to link to Xtreme app? Thx

*EDIT* Well this answers one of my questions, from the Titan Sticky thread

23-Changing SoftKeys
Create the following keys and Strings in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 3
112 is the left key and 113 is the right.
Set Default to what you want the key to read (ie. SMS)
Now for each key create a new string named Open and set the target path.

The problem i found with extreme, is if the program is in the background or closed, i dont know i have a new SMS until i open the extreme program and see it. It seems that theres no notification set up for new SMS in the program and it doesnt open itself upon receiving a new text.

This is not a good thing at all as youll never know you have a new text message there until you physically check.

The problem is programs like HTC home and SPB phonesuite (which i use) dont have configurable icons. There has to be some way that the program can just open itself or come to the foreground to let you know you have a text.

the other IMSMs program does both of those functions but the program is way buggy

Maybe I never set extreme text as the default messaging app? Because I still get the text notifications from Windows Mobile. If i click reply on the notification it takes me to standard messaging tho, but if i want to use extreme text, I just dismiss the notification and go into extreme text. I guess what we really want is for the notification to still pop up and then when we hit reply, for Extreme text to pop up into that conversation.

Someone who knows the developer should have him register over here and check this thread. Honestly, he'll get himself a pretty penny if he properly develops this app for PPC's.

How are you setting it to the default message handler? I tried to look through the settings on the device but didnt find anything.... is it a setting in extreme text itself?

and please dont beg or message for the alpha i cant give it out without the developer's permission. feel free to google birdsoft's website and email them and ask.
Keep it up. Hope that it works well when finally released. The Palm SMS hack integrates perfectly but is buggy and loses texts sometimes. If another program could integrate as well and be designed specifically for WM6 (should be more reliable), that would be great.
