I have now, based on multiple reports that voice search actually does work in WM. It actually does.

At the time I posted, though, I had neither downloaded nor tried it. I like to know what an "upgrade" is supposed to do before I install it. In this case, Google specifies that voice search is not in the WM version, so I wondered why everyone assumed it was.

An example of a good reason to be wary of "upgrades" is the new Bing version, which is essentially useless compared to older versions.

In case anyone is wondering, Google also says turn-by-turn directions and voice directions are not in the most recent WM version. In those cases, they are correct.
