Not that I know of... After doing some research, it appears the device from the movie utilizes some form of echolocation, now, due to the speaker and microphone being mounted on the side of most devices facing the user, Such and app wold be impractical in the real world on a mobile device, the device would need to be purpose built, or an echolocation assembly constructed that mounted into the CF slot, faced forward, and then reported to a program with a similar display. That is not to say I won't try my best to create a simulation that is faithful to the concept... I may have to use different sound effects, because clicks at too high a volume can damage a ppc's speaker. But a nice "ping" effect sychronized to a waveform on the screen might work. I'll see what I can do.

Lightbulb New Gadget...

You asked, and so here it is! The Motion Tracker from the movie "Alien". I've added a couple of functions to use up more screen space, but the concept, end result, and sound effects are as close to the movie as I could find.

Enjoy!

Lightbulb Motion Tracker MkII...

Here is the next evolution of the Motion Tracker, with a new "Hold" function, and enhanced animation. The MkIIB features a slightly different interface, and the "Hold" button functions differently depending on which mode you're in.

Enjoy!
