Proper Speech to Text in ALL text fields

I just got a Nexus One and played with it for a couple days. I ultimately ended up returning it because I still prefer to get the HD2 which should be out soon with T-Mobile USA, but that's another story.

My favorite feature of the new 2.1 Android OS by far is the voice input that's available everywhere you can use the keyboard to enter text here. This means you can use voice dictation for sending text messages, email, type notes, type up a Word doc or anything else for that matter. This is something I've always wanted in WinMo but never seen so far. I've used VoiceCommand and TellMe etc but they're all pretty limited and most importantly - cannot be used while you're in a text field in whatever app you're currently in.

While I'm on the subject, wouldn't it also be nice if the voice input had direct hooks in to the OS so you could use your voice to add calendar appointments etc by saying something like "Appointment: Meeting with Rob, january 10th, 4pm" or something like that?

I'd just like to see if there is any interest in such functionality from other users and maybe with enough interest, someone at MS will notice and make it happen. The N1 is obviously getting a lot of attention and I'd say this voice input feature is a pretty solid one. Please post here expressing your support if you are interested in this functionality natively in WinMo.

Here's a video of it in action on the N1:
