Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

nice app, thanks like the idea, but after syncing pictures, all my phone's contact pictures are suddenly low grade quality? like they've been compressed, but online they are normal. quite annoying, had to go and re-assign photos again

I finally set it to auto sync and within a minute or two I got the text message.

Anybody know what is causing this? I love having a copy of all or most of my PIM data on a server but this can be a deal breaker.

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

I have a two parter here.....

-DashWire...are there certain specs, or requirements for pics to sync? I have a few pics I placed on my memory card in the folder all my synced ones are, and in a bit over a day, those three haven't synced...everything else is going fine though, so I wondered if there was a requirement I was missing.

-Coz (not stalking...promise) Does the 'confirm to close' work for you? It doesn't work for me at all, and I wind up closing DashWire alot from the picture viewer screen.

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

i have noticed that since switching from the mogul to the touch (64mb mogul vs 128mb touch) that my system resources are much better then before i think between 34% to 54% with dashwire running all the time. It does seem to slow down the boot up as it wants to sync and dial out to the net....

I haven't found any problem with the resources being drained on my device, my main thing is the battery drain (which they are working on) being quite excessive!!

I had tried Dashwire, but it kept erroring out with a general error message and no details (well it only said "exit Dashwire and restart)...
Nothing I did could correct it, so I uninstalled it.

When did you try it? Have you tried the new version? If not, I would try that. If you have tried the newer version I would write DashWire and ask them if they have looked into your circumstances, I am sure they will have something constructive to try or work on in the future!!

mail2web.com is great for backing up calendar and appt and contacts. i hard reset my phone at least once a week and it is nothing to just install the cab file and all the info just comes right back!

Yea I tried the new version, and it was not working. It was not a big deal, it's not like I was really needing to use Dashwire, so it was never a big deal to me.

Yes that's something we're working on. We thumbnail the full-size version and shrink it down so that users can have access to it on their phone without taking up too much space. For now that process leaves some of the pictures looking somewhat low-quality. Sorry about the re-assigning you had to do.
