steps for manually backing up your PIM file (which backs up contacts, calandar, notes, tasks, and call history)
1) open file explorer, in top left go to my device, scroll down and you will find a file named PIM.VOL, tap and hold then select copy
2) go to your storage card, tap menu, edit, paste (verify size of the file on storage card matches your device if copy is way smaller you prob taped paste shortcut by accident)
3) hard reset your device
4) once done open file explore and agiain in the top left choose my device, scroll down to the new (empty) PIM file, tap and hold, tap rename, rename to old
5) go to storage card tap and hold on PIM then copy
6) go back to my device tap menu, edit, paste then soft reset

your contacts, calandar, tasks, notes, and call history are all back.

OR just setup a free mail2web account to sync with and get direct push email to boot

hope this helps
