Generally the SCI really just makes your phone ring quicker for incoming calls. It won't speed up data at all and doesn't really help with coverage.

You do understand that the reason it allows your phone to ring quicker is because your handset is polling the network more often, updating the network of its location and status.

Updating the network status this way means it is also looking at the nearby sites which allows your handset to determine its coverage, this is why it impacts battery life. If you are in low coverage your phone will use more juice "looking" for the network.

Lets not forget that .6 watts is the maximum output of the CDMA radio. The handset dynamically adjusts its output based upon coverage quality. If it ran at full power all the time you would get little life and have a fairly physically hot handset. (Ouch for GSM which is 1 full watt - cook you faster!).

So lemme get this straight, 0-1 are emergency sets on the SPRINT network right? lower number is higher priority, unlike on some other networks?

You have the idea

If Networks use ACCOLC here in the US it follows the above mentioned protocol.

In the UK they use a completely different ACCOLC which includes double digit numbers and higher numbers have priority.

Choose "Edit" It will ask for your MSL, enter this number now.
It won't accept my MSL code... weird.. I know it's the right one, I used it when I had to program the MDM and MSID.... It thinks for a few seconds then it says "Check unlock code failed. Please input again" any ideas?

just to refresh, be sure your using all CAPS w/HEX ESN.

Other than that, i am unsure. I will research.

A little unsure as to the "all CAPS"... it will only let me enter numbers if I switch to caps or type anything other then 1-9 it just beeps at me..lol

Just to be sure in my own case I went to the MDN MSID screen just to verify I had the right MSL number... I really don't have any interest in changing anything in there just wondering why it's not accepting the right MSL code..

In HEX caps and non-caps are different values. Normally you use your HEX esn in all capitals to get the proper MSL.

Its my understanding it will lock you out if you enter the MSL wrong too many times (Think PUK lock like GSM)

What handset are you using?

Mogul for Sprint... it will only let me enter 1-9...any other combination of anything else and it just beeps at me... I'm not going to change anything in there really just wonder why it won't accept it... I could understand obviously if I wasn't using the right MSL code but I am that's the weird part...

I should have asked, are you entering this via onscreen or physical keyboard?

If its the physical keyboard all i can think of off the top of my head is perhaps you are somehow locking your Function or Caps (or both?) buttons.

Try entering your HEX ESN into the MSL calculator with the onscreen keyboard and let us know if thats any different (or vice versa).
