Don't believe it!

Your access overload class hasn't meant squat diddley since the ages of analog phones. I have been a sales rep and tech support rep since '94. If you are in some third world country that still uses the cdma/tdma analog band then... by all means set your priority to the top cuz you know how congested your network is already

In today's digital world i won't make a difference... Sorry to break it to you!

Thanks for your feedback. Welcome to PPCGeeks

I have been around since 87 myself working both Direct/Indirect as well as Network channels. I currently consult with several of the carriers.

My understanding is very different.

Of course i will take the time to verify this in my next meeting, just so we are all clear. In the meantime, can you provide any verification?

EDIT NOTE - It should be clear there is no CDMA or TDMA Analog band as Digital (CDMA/TDMA/FDMA) is completely different from Analog. CDMA/TDMA/FDMA come only in Digital and is Cellular (800mhz) or PCS (1900mhz), while Analog is Cellular (800mhz) only (clearly not digital). Network congestion is a major concern on all networks. We absolutely have used ACCOLC since Analog, It became an auto program feature (defaulting to last digit of MIN/MSID) shortly after Digital handsets started making their way to the networks. This became auto in an attempt to seed the network evenly to assist with congestion concerns.

I will follow up with additional information as it is made available to me.

I figured out why I couldn't use the "MSL"... they gave me the one-time-use number. I did the ATDbg dump file tweak and found my real MSL...

Although I've noticed, the one-time-use MSL will always work to change your MDM and MSID...just won't work to access the ##788#... just glad I figured it out...

You could have used the calculator to find your MSL much easier. Run it on your phone, punch in your hex esn, and it spits out your MSL.

I was checking my accolc and its already set at 0? If this number is for emergency purposes only how is it already set to that? SCI was at 2 however so i did adjust that.

just a point of reference.

I'm on verizon and I just looked and my accolc is also already at 0.

my phone number ends in 9 so it didn't get autopopulated from that

But my MSID does end in zero so maybe that's the number it gets populated from?

my number is ported from another carrier (sprint actually)- and if I recall on your original carrier your phone number does equal your MSID but once you get ported your phone number is like a virtual link to/from the new MSID that the new carrier uses? something like that seems to stick in my head....

Wow, on my new HTC Vogue the ACCOLC was pre-set to 1!?!?!?!

I guess Vogue owners are considered as good as EMS in sprint's eyes!

(changed it to 2)

my wifes

accolc is set at 0 sprint setting I didn't change it. She has unlimited data. I have unlimited tether and mine is set at 1.

Of course i have no idea what that really means.

Hmmm, I guess sprint doesn't care who gets what priority on their networks... At least it seems that way...
