Re: How do I make Background Transparent to Show HDWall?

Maybe this will help you.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96452

If you have an HDwall .cab already made, just install the cab file. Then in HTC Sense interface, scroll over to the SETTINGS tab. then selct Wallpaper> It asks would you like to use the default wallpaper> select YES.

If you have installed HDwalls on your TP2, then you need to run HDwalls on your TP2 and select the HDwall you installed from that interface.

Re: How do I make Background Transparent to Show HDWall?

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have installed HDWalls. I made the registry edits. I ran the cabs. I can see the proper background on the top and bottom of the homepage but the middle is the sense background, same with all other tabs too.

I am using the latest mightyrom. I used to have a HTC6800 and flashed/modded it all the time. This is really frustrating.

What registry edits would those be? You don't need HDwalls installed on your phone necessarily. Just install the HDwall.cab for the picture you want.
Do you have one you made or one you downloaded that someone else made?

I tried several different things. At the very beginning I installed a cab someone else made.... Then I installed HDWalls and installed the same cab through the hdwalls program on my TP2.

Then I completely reflashed the phone....
Once again I installed HDWalls on my phone and chose another cab.

I can see the backgrounds on the bottom and top of the phone, but the middle is still the f-in sense crap. Very frustrating.

The registry edits I made were setting the homebackgroundpath to "0"

Re: How do I make Background Transparent to Show HDWall?

Undo the registry edit.
Then uninstall HDwalls from your TP2 soft reset and then install the cab posted here.
See if this works for you. After you install this, select the default wallpaper.

worked

Was wondering though: how do I get the top and bottom to also be the background and not black bars? is that possible?

THANKS a lot for the help though! I greatly appreciate it. I dont know what the hell I was doing wrong before. Is there a specific type of .cab I should be looking for if I want a new HDbackground?

Re: How do I make Background Transparent to Show HDWall?

Glad that did it!

Yeah, it has to be made specifically for your version of HTC Sense. It must also not be compressed if you are running MightyRom.

The bars can be made transparent in the .cab making process. That one I made them black.

Let me know if you'd like me to make you a specific HDwall with an image you choose, instead of the one I gave you.

Santod thanks again!

I will take you up on the offer. Attached are a portrait and landscape jpgs that I found while hunting around for a fix for my previous hdwall problem. I like chameleons.

I will get that made for you shortly.

Also, feel free to grab the wallpaper packs I have put together, if you are interested. They are portait images only. Not HDwalls. Link is in my sig. in my posts.
