I have a stock Sprint TP2 and after installing, the top and bottom bars are still the washed out black color... much lighter than the background.

Do you have a fix for that?

Try changing the theme setting in> Settings > today > to HTC Black, if you have it, or something different and find the one you like.
There are other ones that can be installed as well.
