Well, I try to put a picture file as a wallpaper but it only shows it as tiles instead of one full screen picture. Is there a way to change it?

Thats cause you not using a 480x800 wallpaper. it has to be sized right, otherwise it just puts the pic in little squares on your home screen. heres my wallpaper. theme and paper courtesy of s2w. best themes Ive seen.
