Graphics artists are emulating clocks that never physically existed
Look at some these flip clocks.
In particular this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555535 They are drawing 7 Segment LEDs with segments lit (in WHITE) and not lit (in grey) on an old style "Flip Clock" that has no LEDs. Here is what a "Flip Clock" should look like http://www.amazon.com/Timex-1004T-Re.../dp/B0009IIBKE No LED segments, no unlit LED segments. Just plain old white ink on a black ground. Sorry it just gets under my skin. Probably most of these graphic artists have never even seen the old style flip clocks. If you wanted an "LED" clock it should not "Flip".

Mehhh, it's called creativity. Thinking outside the box.
I suppose an LED analog clock is unrealistic too! Hah! ![]() Ligne Roset comes to the rescue with their Pixel clock. The Pixel clock might look like an ordinary big clock, but it's anything but that. It's face is honeycomeb fiberglass filled with 300 LEDs, that are encircled by a satin lacquered steel bezel. It's equipped with a switch to turn the LEDs on or off. It comes with a transparent cable so that you can plug it into a socket if it's not wired directly into a wall. ![]()

I don't know what the big deal is, it's art. Remember the Chuck Norris S2U2 clock?

Wait... so you're getting bugged by people being creative by combining ideas?
