colonel - had a problem with the device freezing after soft reset. Ran the advanced customization to change the HTC Home plugin and after the soft reset, the device would freeze. No other programs were installed.

I had a similar freezing proble but it was caused by me removing the ftouchflo exe file from the windows directory..just hard reset and it will be okay.

can anyone out there check running processes in task manager and tell me if you have an app sucking all your cpu power like me..

Yeah, I have the same app sucking a lot of the CPU power. Labeled "Idle Process". Pretty much staying right around 85%!!!

Okay, I hope you guys are kidding!

Idle process is showing the percentage that your CPU is idle, meaning doing nothing but waiting for other processes to consume CPU cycles.

The higher the Idle process number, the less your CPU is working. It's not something you can kill, and is not an application. It's just showing the percentage that your CPU is not working.

well that's just weird. I wasn't sure but that's why I asked. I mean why would a task manager show idel cycles as an actual process? doesn't make sense. and it doesn't help explain why scrolling in pie is so damn sucky. can't use the down button to scroll at all or I would be waitingv all day. which is why I assumed thbis idle process was taking all my resources. even on a fresh soft reset scrolling just sucks. I did see something on xda about replacing a file called webview.dll though. cause at this rate touchflo is useless

I never removed or touched any file other than running the Advanded Config program.

Also, if you don't want the FTouchFLO running, you can disable it from the folder \Windows\Start Up in lieu of deleting the FTouchFLO.exe from the \Windows directory.

Not seeing any of the freezing or locking up on the latest rom. Very stable, even with multiple programs running no lock ups or hang ups and I typically will have at least 3 open programs working at the same time (email or messaging, MS Office, and CM contacts)
The only drawback or slow process is CM Contacts, some of that I am sure is because it takes a moment to shift thru 1100+ contacts.
BTW is there a program out there to find duplicate entries in contacts and delete them or at least select to delete?

HI...quick question for anyone that can help me.
Ok so there is something called FtouchFlo on Colonels OCt21 rom. Ok cool i got the jist of that. I have tried it out and it works. Ok now my question is how do i disable this thing if i want to. While looking up the software i found it on the xda site and it had instructions on ow to configure it and so on, but i dont know if im missing something cause in colonels rom there is no where in the Program Files area (Program Files\FTouchFlo directory) that this application is even exist so i have no way of configuring it or even disabling it from booting up. Read some where on here and it was saying if you are having issues with the app on colonels rom you need to reinstall it or something like that. So i just downloaded the app and reinstalled it...and now i have the Program Files\FTouchFlo directory BUT every time i reset my phone it give me an error message saying Ftouchflo is already running. So i uninstalled the app (the one that i manual installed that is) and now once again the Program Files\FTouchFlo directory no longer exist
So to make my question more clear...
1. How do i configure this app considering that there is not trace that it even exit on my phone expect for the fact that it works lol

2. How do disable it from automatically starting up when i reset the phone...is there a way i can choose how and when the application runs.

thanx

O and one more thing...after reset i have about 15.95 MB free is this normal with colonels oct21 rom...
i know it has alot of apps on it so i was wondering if this is the reason for such low RAM after soft reset. What programs are eating up so much of the RAM maybe i could live with out them

its in the windows folder...did you even bother yourself to look? as far as ram usgae.thats why there is a task manager, so you can see for yourself what is easting it. imho people worry too much about ram, especially on a cadillac rom like this one
