I have never liked activesync. it's bulky, has a mind of it's own and is one of the flakiest programs to use over usb. to me it's only useful purpose is for exchange email. for that matter even outlook has left a bad taste in my mouth over the years and this year I broke that habit. I get very tired of the proprietary nature of these appz.
for example; active sync has very poor conflict management. (if there is a conflict [ie you changed a contacts phone#] activesync (wmdc) will only pick one outlook's version or the phone's version depending on your setting. why can't it show you (the user) the conflict in question and let you decide which to keep or merge.

I use dashwire now, (i'm not saying it's conflict managemt is leaps and bounds, but it's getting there) and they're working hard at making it a positive experience.
after using bitpim for so many years with "normal" phones I got used to actually having control over my contacts.

EDIT; I just noticed this is kinda off topic, but that ? kinda hit home with me.

If I remember right, you just need to wait a few more minutes for the process to complete, and it won't show an activesync connection, as the phone is in a "raw" state.

How does one deactive Mobile Device Center on Vista, which does not use Activesync, or is this necessary?

Re: Stuck in TITAN bootloader? Read this!

HELP! Under vista x64, ran oilpro 2.40 successfully except now I'm stuck in bootloader, and the titan_exitbl just errors saying to disable USB/activesyn, yet I already closed the processes in task manager this thread said to (CTRL+ALT+DELETE). Any help? It's the red/green/blue with white at the bottom screen, reads TITA100 SPL-2.40.oilpro

"ran oilpro 2.40 successfully" Flash a stock rom.
As long as you plug the usb in and it changes to serial you should be able to DL and just flash to a stock rom from your carrier. That should bring it out of BL mode. Then you can flash what ever rom you want.

With the USB plugged in it reads USB on the Titan. Also I tried putting the newest 3.42.30 radio on an SD card named properly but even in bootloader it doesn't seem to take it to install...
