Re: what is the best rom right now
Here are some links that may help you for your Titan:
Official Carrier ROMS Sprint 6.1: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20641 Others Carriers: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21953 Custom ROMS Pre-req: Must have a unlocked phone to put these on your phone so follow the instructions carefully located at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33857 (GA Medic great tutorial) PPC Kitchen Can flash to different versions and almost all carriers and is a point and click GUI to choose your preloaded software (you can select custom dialers, SMS tools, utilities and burn all together). This is the simpliest but the latest version of 6.5 in this build is an older version (21501). You can learn more by going to http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46525. Latest 6.5 ROMS Sprint 23001b bare bones and loaded with some extras can be found by mattsm at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=72489 Alltel 23001 by btonetbone can be found at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=73339 idume Kitchen for burning the latest ROMs by idume (up to version 23001 currently) can be found at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=70411. I have used the PPC Kitchen and the Sprint 21812 (mattsm) on my personal phone and am currently using the stock rom (about to go to store to have keyboard looked at). If you are new to customizing a Titan, I would highly recommend reading the threads carefully as you may end up with a dead phone if not done properly. If in doubt, feel free to ask people on this forum. If you think this is helpful hit the thank button below.

Re: what is the best rom right now
The early 6.5 ROMs are sluggish (21501), but my 21802 was pretty snappy on my Mogul. I haven't personally tried later than 21802 but I have heard really good things about 23001: fast + low memory.
The latest 6.1 release can be found in the PPC Kitchen. Last edited by devsolution; 07-06-2009 at 12:51 AM. |
