Oh well then downgrading won't fix that problem. The bad esn is the problem. Sorry.

Thing is, the ESN isn't "bad". It just isn't Verizon's. I had this thing on the voice network for two weeks, and I know I can't get it back on. I'm hoping to try adding the phone to someone else's account to see if they blocked OTA on mine. Other than that, I'm pretty much stuck.

With Alltel, I've had pretty good luck just playing dumb when I activate different carrier's ESNs on their network. Something along the lines of "well, it says Alltel when I turn it on.. I dont know what the problem there could be" is usually enough to get the rep to keep moving. I think that, in general, the less you let on the better off you are.
