Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

where the hell is everyone? Does anyone have this working, everyone has a problem with XIPfilename, right? I've tried just about every permutation of titan,xxx,xip_patch_20931.bin to no avail. What do each of these represent? I looked at 20931 to see if I could mimic the structure, but I have no idea what the NueROM correspondent to WM6.1_20931 is.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Anyone getting the XIP error, I've solved it. Go to kitchens/nuerom/titancore and open kitchen_config.

find the line in kitchen_config that starts XipFilename=, and change to:
XipFilename=Titan,nueROM3,xip_patch_20931.bin
<ROM_OS_ID>=Titan,nueROM3

Then the groups template provided works.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Strange... I actually didn't even open the group files here. I just pasted them in groups/ on a fresh install of buildOS, made the single change that I mentioned (.03 to .04) and built.

I didn't even know there was a typo (mmodule), it still built for me fine. Odd that it would work I guess- but it begs the question, why did it work for me (and the people I gave it to and tested to confirm before posting) in the first place?
I also did *NOT* need to edit that XIP line.

I'm wondering if it will make a difference in my rom if I do, however... so far been using it, and while its not the best (read:fastest) rom I've ever used, it does work well.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Can you confirm that your kitchen config xipfilename is still just Titan, wm6.1 bla bla bla and does not have the nuerom reference? Uninstalling PPCKitchen does not always uninstall all kitchens, if you had made attempts to run nuerom in the kitchen before, you might have edited that line, or if you used mike4fun's file, it contained that edit.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Well, to be sure, I had tested it on a totally new computer to BuildOS (my laptop).
I double checked, and apparently
XipFilename=Titan,nueROM3,xip_patch_20931.bin
<ROM_OS_ID>=Titan,nueROM3
is already in there.

It just occured to me that one of the things GGuru had suggested a while back is to try leaving it in .rar form, so I'm guessing I had made that change and re-packed it into the .rar that I downloaded from no2chem. Then, I carried the .rar over to the laptop not realizing it was modified like that.

Funny thing is that I think I still had to change .03 to .04, so it wasn't a complete fixed file... Updating first post.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Thanks so much Dishe and MRomblad (+gguru + No2Chem). This allowed me to get through the build without errors (as opposed to the 15 things I tried which failed). Going to flash now, and we'll see how it goes.

Update: Well it worked. However, no selections were checked on nueRom or anything else, so it took quite a while to get it right. I also found that if I started to get the message errors above, that rebooting the computer allowed for further cooking without the errors. Also, could not get autorun working for my UC files. Well, in any event after several hours, I have a fine working ppck931/nueRom206 hybrid.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

where is the option.xml which I can delete to force all true? It's really irritating checking a million boxes. I notice that autorun did not show up in the OEM list, but I selected SDAutorun which has a dependency on autorun, and when I booted my phone, it still ran, so perhaps one of the hundred thousand no2chem packages I manually included enabled autorun.

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

Thanks for the info! I got it loaded into the PPCKitchen, but now I have no idea what to select...the descriptions are missing for many things.

I would like to build a ROM that has the ability to turn the camera on and off. Does anyone have a configuration file that might help?

Thanks again.

EDIT: Saw on another post it is nueCORE...

Now for another question, how do I set this up so US Celular is in the list of carriers?

Re: NueRom Unified Kitchen 206 + BuildOS = PROPER FIX!

If you haven't noticed, when you click on the camera link with the camera disabled in the kernel... The phone locks up. Thats because no2chem modified the HTC camera oem with a switch that checks if its disabled and ask's to enable the camera instead of locking up. But his oem has a GUID conflict with the actual OEM from for all the other kitchens. Even if u select his packege in the nueROM Titan/Vogue Drivers section instead of the imaging section the original OEM is stilled cooked in.

To fix this just change the GUID for the .dsm and .rgu file and update the option.xml with the new GUID. Select no2chem's camera package over the one under imaging and ur all set.

Everything in the System 96 DPI Resource, System 96 DPI 240x320 Resource, and System Packages should be selected unless its something obvious that you don't want cooked in.
