This is great place to find tweaks, hacks, and a community of geeks that are dedicated to customizing PPCs !!! While we are here to help you, keep in mind that most of the time if your not getting a response to your question, its because we dont know the answer - not because your being ignored... Seeing as how i dont use Voice Dial or goodlink i cannot provide you with much insight, but perhaps someone else that uses those services can chime in and offer you something. Again I just wanted to formerly welcome you to ppcgeeks, and if you did indeed read all 18 pages i commend your effort, but be prepared to do a LOT more reading

Thanks - yeah I know about threads in general - I am a Senior Network Administrator for a Hospital Chain in America . Belong to lots of threads - and i try to keep current on things. THis is my first phone to own in 5 years - had Cincular (now AT&T) and they sucked so I never went back. Now I have Sprint - so far I am happy with service - the phone sucked with OEM software - but now that I have NUErom 3 -m working it seems great! HAd to find the NAvtele program for sprint and SprintTV (still not working) but has been fun. Looking to start "cooking" my own roms after I get a feel of the software etc.

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
I know most of us in the thread are enjoying NueRom, however has anyone done any side-by-side comparisons with other OS builds?
NueRom totally owns when it comes to memory, and it does seem pretty snappy- for everything except screen redraws, I notice. The touch screen is pretty responsive, and the keyboard is fast... however I find that whenever it needs to do a screen redraw (display a new window on screen, rotate display, etc) it seems to lag a little. I'm fairly certain, however, that this has less to do with NueRom and more to do with the 20931 base that he's using. Now, I'll admit its WORLDS better than the disappointment that was build 20924, but coming from 20755 (and being a bit spoiled by the INSTANT rotation and screen update/redraws. Often felt like the screen had finished rotating before I even finished sliding out the keyboard!), I found that this was a step in the opposite direction as far as lag goes. Its barely noticeable, and if I had never used 20755 I wouldn't know/care. But, I know this device is capable of better performance and it bothers me that you have to choose between more memory and faster screen draws. Its really a shame because I love everything else about NueROM. Perhaps we can convince no2chem to have an optional "downgraded" nuerom based on 20755 for the best of both worlds...

Pleaseee Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I flashed to the new nuerom 201-M and everything went smooth up until it I got to the today screen and it started to customize windows automatically. it got about half way and then gave me an error saying "
The file: \Windows\aAudibleAir_SprintPPC(noUninstall).CAB does not exist!" What does this mean. I dont think it finished customizing. the screen wouldnt work and no hardware buttons would work so I soft-reset it and it works now but the task manager is missing and the little square around the ok/close buttons doesnt show and the IE hardware button doesnt work. Did I do something wrong? |

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
Dishe, I know exactly what you mean. Sluggishness is limited exclusively to screen rotation, everything else is as snappy as I've ever seen it, no delay in typing letters, opening programs, as long as I maintain the same aspect ratio it flies. How is it that screen redraws are specifically sluggish?
