Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3

I know you said it was locked, but the default lock doen't lock the call/end buttons all the time. something to try would be s2u2, it should stop it if it's a hardware issue.

Yup - I'm familiar with holster phoning and its effects. I did go to S2U2 a while back and actually removed it thinking it might have been causing/contributing to this. I'm running it right now and still getting phantom dialling - the dialler will actually pop up in front of the S2U2 screen without unlocking it, then go back to lock after hitting the 'end' key.

I'm also now getting 'call faded' warnings from the phone too, so I do suspect something wacky with the hardware still. Flashing back to a stock AKU now just to make sure.

(By the way do people bother putting the stock bootloader back as well as the ROM when returning a phone? Yes?)

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3

I decided to flash to DCD 3.2.6, using the stock Titan dialler and Comm Manager options, and am having none of these issues yet. I think there's something with the SmartDialler and my contacts that may be interacting badly. Will experiment more later, but it seems stable now.

Thanks all.

ETA:

Of course as SOON as I posted that it spontaneously dialled again. S2U2 running, dialler popped up, I hit 'end', S2U2 pops back on like it was never "unlocked".

Calling Verizon tonight and claiming an Asurion replacement.

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3

I cannot get pic/video messaging to work using the nueROM-S. Text works just fine. I get some IOTA connection error. I am on Alltel, not Sprint. How do I get this to work? I've tried the Alltel carrier cab already. Is there a registry hack?

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3

Two options: Get the signed cab off the extended ROM, or do a *228 optiosn 1 and 2.

Where would I find this signed cab? I've tried everything but that.

The extended ROM. You may have to go to nuerom.com and download that tool to install it.

If you search around, you may be able to find a mirror. But from nuerom.com, you need to make a contribution (of any size). But there are many newer ROMs out there which will run well and have many of the nuetools incorporated.

If you are interested in his product, though, I'd recommend making the donation. No2chem doesn't get paid for the amount of time/effort he's put in; it's simply a hobby.
