Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
So I updated to NueRom-M today from a 5070 build. Used PIM backup (first time using it) and everything I wanted transferred over seems to be working fine. Props to No2 for squeezing out every bit of RAM. It really is crazy what that guy can do.
I've only got one problem that's been bugging me though. It looks like at least one other person had this happen too, but I didn't come accross a solution. For some reason the screen tap sound is enabled... sort of. It only happens when clicking on Start, Anything from the Start menu, or when you hold down the stylus ("right clicking"?). I've tracked it back to the menupop.wav file in the \windows folder. I was going to just rename or replace it with a blank sound it but it's locked. Toggling it under Settings/Sound & Notifications doesn't do anything either. Does anyone know of a reg entry I could edit to maybe redirect it to another sound? Or just disable it all together? |

HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 I recommend doing a registry search for that sound file first. If you have a key pointing to it, then you've found it. I don't have any more time today to search, but if I find anything else, I'll let you know. |

Thanks for the tip. I tried searching the registry for the file name and couldn't find anything unfortunately. Upon further listening it's actually 2 different sounds. MenuPop.wav and hwandsw.wav, one for the inital and following clicks, and one for the final click. Both aren't in the registry anywhere that I can see. I'm just using the search function, so it could be hidden somewhere my little newb brain doesn't know where to look . I did find out that it's linked to Events rather than screen taps. So maybe I can find something linked to that in the registry. I guess could always live without warning sounds. Hopefully ringtones don't fall under events, lol. |

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
only issue I had was no task manager and hard button issues. Other than that this is by far the best rom I have ever flashed to. I was a big fan of no2's 5067, now I am a HUGE fan of nuerom 3. Thanks again 4 the upload!!!

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
Odd dialer issues:
I just freshly rebuilt my phone with Nuerom 3pre3, and I'm getting....strange dialer issues. Specifically, after receiving a call, my phone will periodically dial the last number - sometimes when I holster it (yes, screen is locked), sometimes just sitting there. Disclaimers: - I haven't cooked the rom with the kitchen, just installed the stock rom and my usual apps - there's a lot, I can list them if needed - I also use a Redfly, which does weird driver stuff Just a casual post to see if anyone's run across this, or if it's just me, or possibly a hardware issue before I go blanking it out again in the middle of a workweek...thanks all, and thanks for the hard work. |

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
try pulling the battery for ~30 sec, and immediately hard-reseting after putting battery back. (if it pwr's up instead of bootloader, pull batt again.)
see if you can live without the redfly for a while, that way it can be ruled out as a cause.

Re: nueROM-S / nueROM-M / nueROM3
I hard-reset after clearing the battery, and only set up my ActiveSync Exchange connection without installing any third-party software, and still seem to be getting the issue. I'm inclined to chalk it up to hardware at this point. I think I'll flash back to the stock ROM just to test, but I think I'm looking at an Asurion call...
