Slow texting - laaaaaaag

I guess I've seen this in pretty much every ROM except for a nuerom k release? I haven't noticed it being all that speedy in new releases though.. and dcd roms seem to have a similar problem...

I'm wondering if anyone else is annoyed by this and if there's a better rom that works well with texting? I text A LOT and I'm really get sick of having HORRIBLE lag from typing on the keyboard.. I literally have to hit keys and sit there watching it paint the letters on the screen before I continue typing or it misses letters... it seems this isn't a problem from a freshly built ROM or hard reset but as time goes on it gets slower and slower... I have even tried clearing out the text messages but it still is slow...

This is basic phone functionality that is really starting to suck and I know it's because of the speed of the titan... I'm wondering if other qwerty pda's experience this or if it's just the titans? very frustrated... bleh.
