Tried that, it still sticks at the white Verizon logo. I put the radio file back on the SD Card and re did the radio update by putting into boot loader. Then tried flashing a custom rom by putting it into bootloader and running the RUU... gets to 1% then resets.

INSTANT GPS LOCKS FOR VERIZON USERS!!!!!!!

Now we get what the Sprint users have had for so long. Assisted GPS!

GC14 who originally came out with the GPS FIX that was mentioned at the beginning of this post has changed the instructions a little bit, and has made the GPS assisted like the Sprint guys phones are!

You still have to use QPST and make sure all your check boxes are checked, but now you can add the IP address, and port numbers to make it assisted! GC14 ROCKS!

Locks are INSTANT, and if not only take a maximum of 6 seconds on my device which is only after a cold boot because it has to start my network connection. Seriously no more need for GPS launchers like BAF or ASTRO GPS if you don't want them. Your navigation / map programs will be able to fire up the on-board GPS instantly with no assistance. ENJOY!!!

I'm using a the latest Titan 6.1 kitchen, and I've just finished setting up my phone with the apps, etc that I need.

Can I flash just the PRI and no have to hard reset my phone? Please excuse my ignorance, I'm coming from a 6700 and just getting used to the Titan flashing process.

Okay I got past the issue I was having... seems to be a software/driver connection problem between the phone and my PC so it wouldn't connect to do the custom ROM update. So, one other question are we supposed to allow the customizations to run after a hard reset or no?

Okay wtf... the GPS was working... now it's not. It's been sitting for a half-hour now trying to get a fix. I did notice that in EPST it's saying I have pri 1.35_002. Did it somehow revert itself? I checked with QPST and the gpsOne settings are still checked (and not grayed out) the way they should be.

I went through every step of this very slowly to make sure I didn't screw it up, and this is what happened to me...
After it was all completed I had these versions:

CE OS 5.2.20273 (Build 20273.1.3.3)
ROM Version: 3.56
Radio Version: 3.42.50
PRI Version: 2.03_002
No2Chem 2.47 Bootloader

HOWEVER!
Had to call for the A-Key. Even though I've done countless flashes, and haven't had a need to do so since the very first one I did. TOTAL PAIN!

AND!
Kept getting the (Code 11: PPP Connection Error) every time I tried to connect to the internet and had to place a second call to Verizon. They opened a trouble ticket, and one of their network techs had to reset things on their end.

When I was waiting for them to get things fixed on my network connection, I noticed that GPS wasn't locking. For some reason, it began to lock as soon as they got things fixed. My DMU keys needed to be reset on their end, but that shouldn't have had any effect on the GPS since Verizon doesn't use the internet to assist the GPS ONE chip. Apparently you can get around this if you have an old regular non-pda phone laying around you can activate using your Verizon online account, then switching back to your 6800 after about 10 minutes.

All working well now, after about an hour on the phone with Verizon and 2 separate calls. So it does work, but you CAN encounter problems along the way. God knows I did. I don't notice any real difference in the PRI versions, but I don't know exactly what specific benefits this version has to even look for improvements.

My GPS isn't locking either right now. I think I have the same versions now as you do. My internet works fine over the phone though. Did you let the customizations run after you installed the custom rom?

Okay, I'm a dumbass... forgot to set the aGPS for "Location ON", it was on "911 Only".

so is the NEW PRI better or worse>?? i really dont get a lock in under a minute w/ the old PRI and DCD's 3.2.6 rom....
