Re: Official Verizon Upgrade Posted!!!!

Does skype or any other VOIP solution work with this one? I am still running 3.49.no2.5066 so I can run skype.
Anyone find a way to unlock the GPS in this one? I'll actually have some input when I load this on Saturday night. Yes, that is exactly how exciting my weekends are.

I hope we can finally get the PDE server for vzw now to allow faster locks via aGPS. I'll open the cab up tonight to try to disable the security signing to see if it makes a difference.

Here is GC14's response to my post at xda:

I'm running dcd 3.26/ radio 3.42.40 and am on an vzw employee provizioned account. I downloaded the vz navigator cab as my account is provisioned for free vz navigator and could not run it on my xv6800 with the ship pri on it. I got "File cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found." I guess this is the proprietary vz nav driver GC is talking about. I use tom-tom and just wanted this to demo to customers but its not worth me going stock and losing my tom-tom and other enhancements over stock. Hopefully this driver can be patched to run on a custom rom too.
VZNav runs fine with rom 3.57 and pri 2.03_002. You can't run VZNav at the moment with 3.2.6. The proper security certs aren't there.

Warning from GC at XDA:

At the moment, if you want any kind of GPS, do NOT upgrade the PRI. If you flash the new update, do not let customizations run (this is what upgrades it). The PRI completely locks 3rd party applications from using the GPS.
