Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I'd like to add that I, too, have been having problems with ActiveSync starting about a week ago. Phone sometimes locks up, or ActiveSync can't connect. Using 20270 right now, but also have used 5067, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've even had to disable the Advance Networking feature again, after having done so immediately after booting up after a flash, and that setting surviving several soft resets. I've had to kill ActiveSync and restart several times, but the sync connection doesn't survive for long, with no soft reset of the phone and no shutdown of the computer. I never know what will fix the connection problem, killing ActiveSync and restarting, or a soft reset. Maybe one of those infamous critical updates from MS?

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I've had the lockup happen a few more times since I posted and have found that it takes 3 boots (2 soft resets) to get my phone to work correctly again. The first boot will launch activesync and lockup the phone, the second boot does the same, then the third boot everything will work fine. Very frustrating, but at least I know I don't need to hard reset when this happens (which is what I was doing before...ug!).

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I've got a Verizon (Don't Say it... I know) Titan, and I'm having the same trouble with Activesync loading and locking the phone. The thing is, is that I'm using DCD's latest Rom. It's very annoying I agree

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
Ok, this is getting annoying. I have flashed back to 5067 a couple of times, tried 20270 a couple times, and am now back on 5067 again. I have tried only installing programs that I have used in the past without issue, though there are a couple new ones that I have installed as well which I have begun taking off as I have been reflashing. So far now luck, it's still happening, sometimes as bad as Tim mentioned (a couple times I couldn't get my mogul to load without Activesync loading / locking up, had to hard reset on the phone). I'm giving it a few more tries but if it keeps doing this I may be done with custom roms until some one can figure out what is causing this, I'm tired of reinstalling / restoring all my programs and settings. Also a side note, SprintTV works fine for me on 5067, but won't work on 20270 even if I install it seperately from a CAB file.

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
Are you doing a hard reset after you flash your ROM? I think you do not need both flash players (flash lite, flash player). The xdf reader is a little smaller than adobe. Reducing the size of your ROM may help. Also be a little more descriptive of what of how/when the lockups occur. How much RAM do you have showing?

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I usually do hard reset after flashing, sometimes take the battery out first, sometimes not. I wasn't sure about both flash players but they had different descriptions so I included them both. As to when it happens it's always upon bootup, within about 5-10 seconds of the today screen loading. I have tried to determine what event prior to rebooting might cause it but it is too random, and has happened even without having made any changes to my phone prior to rebooting. I have 21mb-22mb of free ram at boot.
I just rebooted and had Activesync load and lock up my phone, and also noticed something I hadn't before. The wifi animation icon in the top title bar was showing even though the wifi switch was turned off. I just double checked and I don't have nueswitch installed (I did during some other flashes, but not this one), but it still seems odd that the wifi animation icon would show like that when it was off. I rebooted again and everything loaded normal, the wifi animation icon didn't show, just the expected EV icon. Thanks. |

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
Do you have an exchange server programmed for email? I am just trying to narrow things down a bit. I know it is a lot of questions but I don't have the problem so it has to be something installed. Also don't worry about having VZW. I know some people may complain but in the southeast VZW by far has the best coverage(in my area at least). I don't worry about what others say. es VZW try's to block some of the capabilities so the can sell there stuff, but that is what we have this forum for
