Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm trying to Come to a solution for this one. I've been installing/uninstalling programs left and right. Kinda sucks... but it's all for the greater good... right? I've noticed that more times than not, SPB Mobile causes most of my freezes. The problem is, is that it doesn't happen all the time. If it's by itself, it NEVER does it... as soon as another program is installed... and a soft reset, BOOM! there it is. Now I've grown accustom to this program, and I'm not so willing to give it up. My question to whoever, is... is there a way to determine what programs are conflicting with others? There has been NO advance in my pursuit... but I'm not giving up!

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
The best I've determined is that on my Mogul it was SPB Pocket Plus. I found a post by another person that said PP was doing it, so I installed the 20273 rom with my normal programs (minus PP) and ran it for a few days, then installed PP and as soon as it rebooted I had the Activesync lockup happen. So I hard reset and installed all my normal apps except for PP, that was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had Activesync lockup my phone at all, even after many reboots.
And then a few days ago I saw there was a Pocket Plus 4.03 beta available. There is no mention of this issue in particular but I did read they are working on better WM 6.1 support, and so far after many reboots I haven't had any lockups occur. For me at least, PP 4.03 beta seems to no longer cause the problem. In case anyone else wants to try it out you can get 4.03 at http://www.spbclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19369 |

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
i have the vista bug as well. sometimes it will hit. maybe its not really a vista bug..
but! i have noticed one odd thing. i was doing some large file moving and had my sd card out. when i moved the phone from the xp computer to vista (minus the card) it picked it up every freaking time.! lets see if we can add that to the list/cause. RD |

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
The problem I had been having (and I'm pretty sure Tim) actually didn't involve syncing the phone. The problem we had was that upon booting up the phone the Activesync window that shows connection status and when you last synced would load up and then the phone would lockup. The phone wasn't connected to the computer, it just did this right from a reboot.
If you are having a problem with your computer not seeing the phone that is another issue. I've actually had that happen too, most often it is because "advanced networking" is selected in USB To PC, but it has also happened after doing a hard reset of the phone. Usually rebooting my phone and computer fixed that problem, though one time I had to reinstall Outlook on my computer. |

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I had the problem whenever I replaced the Microsoft Voice Command files as per the link here. I found that when I copied VoiceCommand_PPC.cplinto the /Windows directory, the ActiveSync application would jump up, display the last ActiveSync activity, and the device would freeze.
Since I needed the MSVC to announce incoming caller-ids, I copied the specified files into the \Program Files\Voice Command\ -- I did NOT copy the above referenced cpl file into the /Windows directory. The problem with MSVC was resolved and the device no longer displays the ActiveSync program and then freeze -- all is well. I'm running No2Chem3. |

Re: Activesync locking up phone w/ cooked roms
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've experienced this one on and off over several roms.. I'm too lazy to reload a custom (and all my apps) from scratch, but I'm getting closer.
I hadn't seen this beast for quite a while, 'till today I attempted to load iGO8 for testing... It's iffy on the Titan anyway, so I figured I was pushing it.. but when attempting to reboot and either uninstall or load a backup, my old friend started popping up again.. (usually on the reboot to restore my backup, forcing me to hard reset.) I've suspected in the past that Pocket Plus may be involved, but was never sure. Is anyone having this issue that dosen't use Pocket plus? I'm using it less and less anyway, and if I could find some of it's functions elsewhere, I'd happily dump it.
