verizon wanting to upgrade have dialing problem

Hi, I have a 6800 and want to upgrade to dcd3.25. The problem is when I do this upgrade then signal is lost all the time or after I do star 228 I loose all signal. I tried with radio 3.42.30.

Right after the rom upgrade I can make a call some times but as soon as I have to soft reset for some of my programs, the problem starts

Is this your first update? Did you do a hard reset? If this your first time running a custom ROM pull the battery out for a minute and reinstall it. Then do a hard rest.

Hi, I have installed roms before, but it seems with 3.25 dcd, I always have this problem.
I am totally blind so it's hard to upgrade radio from micro sd, but should I install the sprint rom, 3.56 and then use a windows based ruu, to use hard spl 2.7?

okay, I took out the battery, put it back in, put the phone in boot loader, reflashed the rom, then as soon as it hit 100, and the phone reset, I immediately stuck in the stilous, and did the hard reset, by holding the left soft and right soft, hittint r and space.
Then the phone went through the screen alignment, and did it's customizations.
when it comes up I can't make a call unless I hit star 22802.
Hang up as soon as I connect, and every time I restart the phone this is what I have to do with this rom and radio 3.42.30.

you need to pull the battery After the flash. so when it hits 100, let it start to reboot, pull the battery, then hard-reset

so, pull the battery before the phone vibrates or afterwards?
and what is pulling the battery going to do, and do I have to do this on all rom upgrades?

Just pull it now then do a hard reset. I has something to do with the flashing of a new ROM for the first time. I don't know the technical reason. If you do it after a flash it doesn't matter if it is before or after it vibrates. Also after you do that, try dialing *22899 that will run option 1 and option 2 at the same time.

well I tried the following,
pulled the battery out, put it back in, put the phone in boot loader mode, ran the rom, at one hundred, when it was restarting, I pulled out the battery, pulled out the usb chord and waited about 20 seconds, put the battery back in and immediately performed the hard reset. when the phone comes up, you can't dial anything right off.
I tried *22899 and the call was lost, but however, I dial *22802 and the call wants to program my phone.
I hang up instead of programming.
I then dial *22899 and the programming takes place.
The phone soft resets and then comes back up.
I can't make any calls until I hit *22802 and let it connect and hang up.
Mabee it's this radio or rom.

What is it saying when you make a call that does not go through?

I take it you are running on verizon? My question would be did you let the customizations run if so you are now running on sprint. When you flash the rom from DCD's do not let the customizations run on your verizon phone you will also need to make sure and run the verizon cab file after you do the rom upgrade. After you do all of this then dial *228 option 2 and update your prl and you should be fine. I am running 3.2.5 with the radio rom 3.42.50 and have no problems dialing or using the phone after following these procedures. I don't have any idea what removing the battery would have to do with doing the rom upgrade. Hope this helps.
