MSL changed?

I have a telus p4000 with the telus released wm6 update.

Decided to update to wm6.1. I have cooked kitchens in the past for my 6700 (before build os).

Anyway, I used olipro 2.40 spl, and had buildos cook the no2chem's latest (left it barebones).

After flashing the rom, I pulled the battery for a minute, did hard reset, it started up fine, it didn't run the extrom files though. Programs ran fine, it sync'd through active sync just fine.

When making a call it said it wasn't activated in this area. Did ##778, and my MSID was wrong, all my m.ip settings were unchanged though. I went to edit, entered my MSL (obtained through GetSPC, and it used on the stock rom) and it said it was incorrect.

I'm certain I'm entering it properly. I tried generating MSL on hex and dec. I've also successfully reverted back to stock and same thing.

I've searched, but nothing. Any ideas?

Re: MSL changed?

I know on VZW we have to call and get a new Akey. I don't know if Telus has a simular process. You could call them and tell them you did a hard reset because of a software issue and your phone won't make calls now.

Re: MSL changed?

ya, i was going to, that's the main reason for reverting back to stock. Unfortunately, today is a holiday in canada, so they closed early.

Re: MSL changed?

nope, my old provider (sasktel) did, but telus doesn't. Sasktel is a small company compared to Telus (the fasted growing provider in N. america, and the largest in canada) and they don't have 24 hr support. Dumb.

Re: MSL changed?

I thought that GetSPC only works on Sprint HTC devices?

I didn't think it worked for other carriers...

Re: MSL changed?

hmmmm, I think you're right. I thought I tried the number though to make sure. I had alot on my mind, I knew I was going to do it, possibly didn't get around to it. Well.... I guess this is going to have to wait until tomorow then.

anyone know how to get the MSL for Telus. Does QPST or bitpim do it?

Re: MSL changed?

I am on telus what are you entering for your msl, it is supposed to be your phone number.

Steps to fix are:

1) Use getspc to get your code (make sure u use the hex ESN from device info and letters must be in caps)
2) Dial ##codefromspc and hit send this should bring up msl wizard
3) Change two setting in the msl wizard to be your 10 digit phone number
4) Phone will soft reset and should be working

After your done that you can dial *22803 to get the latest programming and roaming list for your phone.

Re: MSL changed?

wow. I'm dumb, I didn't even think to use capital letters. That was my whole problem.

And thanks for the activation wizard dial, that made it so much easier.

Thanks again.
