this might sound silly, but did you try a soft reset?

Quote:
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.

Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.

Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.

Doesn't sound silly at all to me. It was the first thing I tried... so if it's silly, them I'm silly. I gave up for a while and went to work. Now I'm gonna try a couple more times before I try a hard reset (since i would need one eventually). Thanks for trying to help

Edit: NueSPL finally worked. It was random. It was gonna be my last try and it just decided to work...

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

GA and anyone else who helped... You rock for this tutorial!!! I just took my first step out of NOOBdom and I didn't brick my phone... Thanks so much.

And thanks Puff for all your help with the unlocking. I really have no idea what was going on. I did the same exact thing I had done 10 times before and it just decided it wanted to work.
