Well, it seems like things have settled down a bit. And yes, there is alot of info to sift through. It seems that Puff as answered most of the questions, however.

And by searching for something like PPST, you are going to get a crapload of threads that don't necessarily explain the definition. So it really can help to just post a horde of questions AFTER you have searched, which is what the OP did.

MOVING ON: Puff, I'm looking into finding out what PPST means. I know what it does, but I don't know what it is

i have searched... and I have seen people say I was having problems with (xxx) and I didn't know what ppst was and I ran it... and it didn't do anything noticeable. Im very hesitant about trying things on my phone bc unlike some people who has things like test phones, and stuff like that. I don't have that luxury. I remember i broke my usb plug and it took me 4 months to get a new phone. have neither have the time or the money to do that. and yes it may be repairable by throwing into boot loader mode. but... yea... and really... with my wifey getting mad about every second i spend on the computer. just think about if i start cooking. so ...

I do apologize for the flaring up. but... I have searched. and reading 56 pages of one thread HOPING to see if anyone says anything about ppst and such. i was pretty sure i knew what the difference between a build and a kitchen was... i know what a cook is and i know what SPL and radios (sort of) and yea i didn't know that n2c's named his builds different from his name. bc everyone else uses thier own names. so i thought he modded someone elses build and made it better. or put his own twist.

ppst is from the carrier and contains alot of carrier specific settings it can turn a verizon phone into a sprint and change it right back to a verizon phone. i personally do not know what it stands but i do know a little bit about what it does. carriers have an auto run after a flash that contains a script to run the ppst and this updates the pri and updates the settings.

ummm... we kinda got off topic here... and i guess i understand what ppst and now epst does. and all goody goody gum drops, lollipops and boogie bops... but maybe it would help out if some one can actually tell me what the acronym means...

the EPST is also carrier specific it shows you your carrier settings you can start your data, change settings, update your roaming list, with the REV A ROMs you can change your data parameters which entails you enabling or disabling the REV A. you must be careful within your EPST since it does contain very sensitive carrier info.
