looking for a verizon flashing expert
as you may or may not know, I have written a guide to flashing the roms on the ppc6800, the big glitch is I am on sprint and that is all I truly know, and my guide seems to have grabbed the attention of verizon users. If I could ask anyone fluent in the verizon flash to read my guide, and outline the differences/extra steps you need(ed) to go through I would gladly give you credit and update the guide to hopefully help more people.

Re: looking for a verizon flashing expert
I am a verizon user and have two thoughts
Why use the sprint ROM to update the radio, can't you do it on its own? if there is a reason to use the latest sprint rom first then it should be heavily noted to not let customization run on non sprint phones.

I read through some instructions that where for sprint users and it said to let it run, and I blindly did and locked my phone to the sprint network. Had to get a replacement. Someone with more experiance might have been able to correct but I posted the question and couldn't get mine back to verizon. |

Re: looking for a verizon flashing expert
I am by no means a Verizon expert but these are the steps I followed. I posted this in another thread as well.
The reason that VZW users were having to flash a sprint rom was so that they could get the Radio update from it. You do not have to run install the sprint rom. You can download the latest radio from FTP and put it on without the sprint ROM. But you must do all the steps in the correct order. These are the steps that worked for me. I don't take responsibilty for anyone who breaks thier phone. 1. Run an unlocker on your device. This unlocks the phone so that you can put a different Radio and a different ROM on it. The important thing is to be careful which one you run. DO NOT USE THE OLIPRO 1.20 spl. Use the 2.40 by olipro or the 2.47 by no2. Again do not get the 1.20 spl. The 1.20 and 2.40 are posted in the same thread and many people have chosen the wrong one inadvertently. (By the way the links are directly to the file you should need) 2. Put a radio on the phone. You can do it one of several ways. You can use the sprint rom without the customizations running. You can download the latest Radio (3.42.30) and place the file (radio) on an SD card, rename that file to TITAIMG.nbh. Place the SD card into the device and put the phone into bootloader mode (Power, camera, reset) and follow the prompts on the screen to update the radio. You can also look for the 3.35 radio on the FTP that is packaged in an installer. All you have to do is plug your phone to your PC and double click the icon, then follow the prompts. I prefer to flash with a SD card. Much easier and you don't have to worry about computer issues. By the way don't worry about booting the phone after a radio install because it won't. The radio you just put on is not compatible with the stock ROM. 3. Put a custom ROM on the phone. You have many to choose from. Check the Stickies at the top of the forum or search for no2chem and dcd's ROMs. You can also go to ppckitchen.org and download the kitchen and cook your own. This is my prefered method.
