Need Guidance - Internet Sharing/Phone as Modem

HELP! I am, relatively (some would say mostly), computer illiterate. I need some knowledgeable guidance. I have a Sprint Mogul. I want to upgrade to Rev. A for the higher speed and maybe, down the road, GPS. My concern is that I occasionally use my Mogul's Internet Sharing to tether to my laptop when I cannot get to a site on the Mogul. Does the stock Sprint REV. A ROM upgrade effect my access to Internet Sharing/Phone as Modem or increase Sprint's awareness of occasional use? I have the $50 SERO plan. RSVP Thanks P.S. No, just upgrade your ROM with one of the ROM's in the upgrade sub-forum, and you're good to go (as long as your area has Rev-A). Shouldn't have any problems with tethering.

I wish I could use the ppc6800 as a modem as I did with the ppc6700, Internet Sharing doesn't seem to be as stable as a modem connection to me (I know it should be the same but it is not, I think it is a software problem).

Use this cab to make the necessary reg edits, so that sprint will not track your usage.

I am new to all of this. Are there any manual changes that need to be made after running the CAB; or is everything automatic?

PS - I've loaded PdaNet and I also have Memaid at my disposal but I haven't tethered yet (Mogul 6800).

Thanks Indagroove, I've tried to download your cab, but it won't download as either "open" or "save". I think it should download in a few seconds, but it does not even after 10 minutes.
