GPS is available with a stock rom. And, you can add a working MSVC by buying it.

Now on to the tired, old battery drain complaint. Here, let me compare your stats that you gathered with the tests I have run. Oh, wait, I don't see any emperical evidence. Hmmm, that must make it difficult to actually determine if there is a battery drain problem correct? FWIW, I idle at less than 100mA which is more than acceptable.

The updater is flakey at times. You can always use manual downloads at www.ppckitchen.org/downloads

So is there a retail MSVC V1.6.19958? I was under the impression there wasn't and none of the versions prior worked very well with the PPC6800 19958 works pretty good 95% of the time.

I was referring to the Alltel stock ROM alltel has no stock rom with GPS and I assume a lot of the drain comes from the fact of the Wifi not working correctly. on the last two kitchen update builds (flashed each several times, and bare with only nueROM and MSVC cooked in) I just walked between the house and studio which moves between two unsecured hotspots and now it is trying to connect to a new (even though it is an old/saved hotspot) but won't connect until I soft reset. I suspect Wifi problems are not as often reported since most on PPCG have an EDVO plan with sprint. I diable data and use wifi only since Alltel has terrible plans and am waiting for my contract to expire so I can then probably go with sprints $99 plan.

I spend a LOT of time here and love it, but I do wish Vbulletin's search function wasn't as terrible as it is.....

EDVO 1x Icon

Can someone point me to the nicer looking EDVO 1x icon in the kitchen. Is it buried inside a dll file? I need to extract it.

Thanks in advance,

Mikee

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

Ok, I have the same problem. I can't assign .m4a's as ringers with this kitchen. I can play them just fine with windows media. If I have it set to vibrate and ring, it rings in a short burst as it tries to play the file.

Ok, I downloaded them .m4a files, and on mine they play fine. By default they open in Media Player, and can also be played with TCPMP. So not sure what the issue is on your device.
If you can give more details on how the device acts when you try to play them; ie: does it lag on opening it, does it give any errors?

edit: another member in chat also tested with same results as me, played fine for them.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

After cooking the 5067, and now the 20270 kitchen, I have three empty folders in Programs: Communication, Multimedia, and Productivity. I assume that some programs are supposed to be in those folders, although I apparently didn't select them from the kitchen.

Can someone tell me what is supposed to go in those folders, and more importantly, why those folders are created without any applications installed for them?

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

They are created because you selected the nuelinks and/or nuelinks configuration oem's. you have to run configuration to move shortcuts into them as I recall.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

20270 Review

After almost three weeks of using this build I have to say that I can't think of any improvements that I would like to see. This has to be the best build so far. It is rock solid, I don't even have to do the daily reset anymore. I still have enough free memory after a few days of regular use to launch any application I want without the phone crashing. The GPS works perfectly with every program that I use and is very quick to get a fix. Battery life was much shorter initially but seemed to straighten itself out after a few days?? I do have a slightly reduced battery life compared to 19588 but it usually lasts the entire day of regular use and seems to last a little longer than I would expect after a lengthy phone call. Maybe it is just the circuitry used to guess the current battery charge not reporting consistently.

I did have to tweak some of the OEM's to my liking before settling on a final build ( I cycled between 20226 and 20270 almost twice a day when this first came out). A lot of the changes that worked for me were also in the latest OEM update.

Without any major problems to work on or reasons for reloading my phone again I dont know what to do with myself lately so I started creeping over to the Diamond Pro threads just to have something to look forward to.

Thank you everyone who made this an excellent build and turned this phone into a very dependable and useful device.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

You know, I've seen other people people complaining about the top bar disappearing in this build. Most people thought it was related to HTC Task Manager, including me. But, a few time in the last week, I lost mine. Seemed to happen whenever I was running some RAM intensive app, and sliding in and out. This doesn't happen every time, but it DOES happen WITHOUT HTC Task Manager. Other observations I have made when this happens, I can hit the window key and get the start menu to show up, but If I try to open ANY window or program, It doesn't show up. Looks like it opens, but BEHIND the desktop screen. Only way to get it back that I can figure so far is a soft reset. The only other thing that I can surmise may be causing the issue is SPB Pocket Plus? Anyone else?
