Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

I've run into a couple of interesting issues with my latest attempt with this version.

1. Despite checking the box for "6.1 WMP Skin", WMP starts up unable to find any skins. I loaded one separately and it works fine from then on. It looks like this specific skin isn't working.

2. At the start, the button for PIE complains shortcut not found. If I go into buttons it's their. Fixed by selecting something else, then reselecting PIE.

3. Loading the demo XM Radio app, it errors out with two errors. First it reports "RegQueryValue Failed" and then after selecting OK on that, the second error is "m_WMPlayer->Create Failed". It looks like there are some registry entries missing? At first I thought it was the missing skin, but after fixing that the problem remains. The app goes through another step or two then hangs. I do have the MusicID app loaded via the kitchen, so perhaps there is a conflict there?

On my previous builds of another base, there was an app (nueUSB?) that would let you select on connection if you wanted the USB port to emulate the USB drive. Where is that on the current kitchen? I thought it might have ben NueStorage CPL but that's definitely not it. There's an app called USB Mass Storage Driver, but there's no on-line info for that.

Other than these three, my very limited testing seems positive. About 20MB free after boot, but I don't load up the today screen with a bunch of stuff so that's not too surprising to me.

I see that it requires .NET 3.5, which is already pre-selected. I've never used it before, so it's possible that I'm not looking in the right place on my phone.
Just a quick bump for the kitchen gurus before it gets buried.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

JimSmith94: that is really odd, because there is nothing that should be making the Advanced Config app a requirement. As you say it has a required module being the .NET, but nothing should require IT. I build with it every build here also, so not really sure what would cause that.

OK, after taking a look at stuff:
you must be selecting the no2chem advanced settings oem, because that has Advanced Config (schapps) as an exclusion- so thats why it shows as highlighted- its being excluded from the build. The 2 of them dont play nice together.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

When trying to do the build this morning, I got a request to overwrite file but it only said task manager settings.png -- is there some conflict here and with what?

Thanks.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

No it is just replacing a file and asking you to confirm the change. It is not a conflict. If you select certain items in the kitchen you will get that confirmation prompt.

Aha, that explains it, thanks! Now I'm curious about how you found that. Did you have to search through all of the options.xml files?

Question Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

Hi, I'm new here. I'm looking at installing my first kitchn rom and I'm looking at the 20270 rom. I have an Alltel Titan ppc6800. In the selections I minimized it as much as possible and it totals about 70MB. I want to install all programs on the microsd card, at least all that will allow to be installed on there. I assume I can install the apps after the rom update by copying the apps from the rar files to my ppc and then installing them individually. Is that the best way to do this or if there another way that's quick and easy?

Thanks

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

Hi. After flashing I got an error while trying to clear a reminder -- unable to execute sqmevent.exe. Also, I selected Resco Explorer 2008, but it complains that the registry add on has an incompatible version.

Thanks in advance for any ideas on these.

No. The kitchen and associated .rars are for making ROMs. You can not put the parts on SD or install them after flashing as if they were a .cab.

You may be able to install some OEMs after flashing by using nuePackage installer.

No I just recalled there being an issue with the 2 apps awhile back...so that gave me a place to start looking.
