Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

The question is... will the widgets *wiggle*?

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I finally got this to work. After fighting with it for quite some time I managed to format my memory card w/ Card Export II (nice application). I don't have a card reader that accepts Micro SD cards, so it had to do. I didn't think it was going to be a success, because XP keeps yelling at me after the format, but, success!

This is really quite cool. I wonder if this will be a serious compeditor for WM6, and if there will be a way to replace WM or dual boot in the future? That would be pretty damn cool.

HAHA, who would want to dual boot wm6 with android? I know myself that when it comes out I'll happily cheer on and donate to whoever gets a titan version going. That is money well spent IMO. Down with WM6!

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I have a 2GB Kingston card and I just extracted the android.zip file and it runs fine, however I can't really do anything.

If I launch an application, I can move around and stuff but I cant exit. None of the buttons I press exit the app.

It's great that it's running on my phone, but still not usable yet.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Awww, the widgets don't wiggle

LOL

Loving the new interface... but they really need to work on the finger friendliness... or lack thereof... I can't use my finger for anything... even buttons... the screen is too sensitive.

Also, the end call button now *locks* the phone instead of taking you out of the app so now you're pretty much forced to stick with one app lol

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

And for the instructions - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=684

Me personally, I couldn't get the files to ungzip on the device and had to do it with winrar on my computer and then edit default.txt to point to initrd instead of initrd.gz... You may have better luck than I.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

booted up first try.
I just got a fresh android.zip, then put the 3 files on top of the ones from the original tarball.

i had no service.. it seems to think it's gsm.
end button turns off screen, can't go between apps.
got the sms error on boot and had to force quit.
other than that, it seems like it's a huge improvement over the last one.

I really need to get my box at home up and running so I can at least try to get some stuff working on this, but I just moved a couple weeks ago and I'm in the process of unpacking/arranging everything still.
