Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
Did you do the bootloader change to 2.40? Once you do that, follow the steps to update radio. Then you either build a ROM yourself (which requires a lot of your reading so that you find out what a kitchen is, how to install it to your PC and how to use it to update your phone) Or you donload a ROM that someone else has posted (whih requires that you read and learn how to put that ROM on your device).
In either case you have to do a ton of reading. Once you read and understand it will all fall into place. The great thing about this forum is that if you do your homework and read, you can come backhere and ask questions. People willbe glad to help you through your problems.

Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
Ga, i'm getting a 6800 for verizon here in a few days, i notice that a lot of these forums talk about changing over to a sprint rom to get the radio upgrade. is there a way that i can just do the radio upgrade (to get the gps functionality) without going completely to the sprint rom? I had a friend that did a flash to a sprint rom on his touch and it made it so he couldn't do the OTA programming, although calls still worked with manual programing data never did authenticate correctly, so i'm a little nervous about converting fully over to it that's all. I'm looking to cooking my own rom with the kitchen afterwards but i see that most of them require me to do the radio upgrade first. Ive read several of the guides and it seems that i do the radio upgrade first and then do the unlock with olipro. Let me know if i have this wrong. I'm asking you because you seem to be the only one with verizon as a carrier i would appreciate any information you could give me.

Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
The thread title says what carrier is being used, Ga. Medic .
Anyway, I have the same question as livinonnosleep, I just want to enable the GPS, can I do that somehow without going through tons and tons of changes to the phone and switching it to a Sprint ROM/all kinds of random crud, for my XV6800 (Verizon as per the thread title of course)? |

Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
That stock rom wont work with GPS radio. You need a non-stock rom for it to work.
Get this rom(this is the one I use, you can use others like No2Chem's which is equally as good): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402920 Get this radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403280 use this as a guide: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...itanRecentHome Once the rom is installed assuming you have verizon, run the carrier cab. Get carrier cab here: http://www.lifesnotsogood.com/dcd1182/carriers/dcd%20Verizon%20Carrier%2020080706.cab Remember you will need to install the new boot loader first. Then do the rest according to instructions there. Also, make sure you have another phone handy or a land-line handy for when u call verizon. To get it re-authenticated. You will need to do this whenever u go from a non-gps radio to a gps one. (I reccomend doing this during business hours so u dont freak and wont be able to contact them until they open in the morning) |

Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
Golden,
I think i found what i was looking for. I've been looking around and reading quite a few threads and it seems like they all say the same thing, that unfortunately you first need to unlock first and then flash to a sprint rom to get the radio upgrade this thread gives you a step by step look at how to do it. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21167 . I havent done this myself as of yet because i don't have the phone yet but it seems that everyone agrees that this is the way that it needs to be done. The important thing to do is to make sure that the customizations do not run on the sprint rom when it boots otherwise you are in for a world of pain apparently. |

Re: 6800 aka titan i guess
Flashing roms is not something to just jump into without doing your research. You can mess up your phone bad.
Even if everything goes good you may have to call Verizon and get the phone authenticated again. Please please read up on what you are doing before you start. There is a lot of information here to go over. Take a few days to learn what you are doing before jumping into it. |
