It's similar to asking: What color is the best color?

Please...come on. People are just asking to gauge if they want one or the other. They are not trying to insult you. Let it be. Its not the same as the statement that you lay in front of us.
When someone asks the question that you say is wrong, all they are doing is trying to base some FACT and TRUTH to the matter at hand.
Some people will say A is the best and then in return some will say B. At that point the user will make his/her choice based on the FEELING the get in return. Bro....let it be already.

Case in point:

Bad Bad analogy...

Yes the best ROM CAN depend upon individual users.
But they are totally legitimate questions to ask within certain paramenters. (ie specifying what you looking for and what you want to do).

These type of questions have asked since the beginning of ROM flashing.... Granted some ROM questions may be silly but most are legitimate. Best of all, most of them get answered very well "the experts" (which you are probably not)

Can't really comment on the specific example you quoted since I don't know much about the diamond ROM but to say in a sweeping statement that these questions should not be asked ... sort of goes against what the this whole forum is about.

"What rom is the best?" - THE ONE I'M RUNNING!

"Is sprint's rom better than custom rom from person x?" - MAYBE?

"which radio is the best?" - THE ONE THAT YOU GET THE BEST SIGNAL WITH!

It's similar to asking: What color is the best color? - GREEN FTW!

Case in point:

ROFLMAO!

Looks like it doesnt work for backups either. Tried both older and v2 SPB. No luck...just freezes right when it starts to do back up.

For my first official post on PPCGeeks, I will finally be able to contribute something to the community from which has taught me so much in such a short period of time since I became a member.

I'd like to be the 1st one to post the fix to the ROAMING issue with the new ROM, or I guess I should say the lack of Roaming. As some of you have already noticed, the Roaming Setting no longer has the "Roaming Only" option. It appears they are trying to cut back on all of the Roaming. Well after looking at the programming and the registy, I quickly learned that the Roaming Only option will work if you put the proper registry settings back on. Well, I have those settings for you ...

Before you can do any of this, you will need a Registry Editor. If you are unsure of what a Registry Editor is or have no clue about the registry, you should probably not be attempting this ... LOL :silent:

First thing you will need to do is go to ...
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\Netw orkService
After highlighting ...\NetworkService, you will see the list with the first line saying "ItemCount". You will need to highlight this line and go into changing the value. You will want to change the Value Data from 2 to 3. After clicking OK, you should see under Name: ItemCount and Data: 3 (0X000003).

The second thing you need to do is create a New String Value. Once you have done this, you will see Value Name and Value Data. Under Value Name, enter "ItemName3" and under Value Data enter "Roaming". After finishing this, you should now see this entry under Name: ItemName3 and Data: Roaming.

The last thing you need to do is create a New DWord Value. Once you have done this, you will see Value Name, Value Data, and a box that says Base with Binary, Decimal, and Hexidecimal as options. Under Value Name enter "ItemValue3" and under Value Data enter "3". Make sure that under the Base option box that Decimal is checked. After finishing this, you should see another new entry under Name: ItemValue3 and Data: 3 (0X000003).

That is it !!! You will now be able to force Roaming whenever you need to without having to put up with dropped calls when you are between service areas. Anyway, I am glad that I could contribute something as I have gained lots of knowledge from PPCGeeks. I hope this helps and if you have any further questions, please PM me. Good luck ...

also, you've posted sooo many threads blasting sprint for not updating this phone enough...so they update it and you get rid of it????

you do know that they haven't updated the touch yet don't you?...are you just going to move on to the touch forum and b!tch there?.....you might as well just skip over the touch and get an instinct since you think that sprint is going to stop supporting all other phones except it......honestly, i'm going to miss reading your crackpot posts....

a-men brother....

Has anyone tried restoring a backup with Sprite Backup? (I read earlier that SPB's backup didn't work.) Yeah I know it's lazy, but I have stuff where I want it. :P
