Re: Help! Can't use Updater to install new Kitchen!?
Make sure you are registered on PPCKitchen.org's website to use for a login. If still having problems:
Running a third party firewall other than windows, try disabling it. If you are using a router, try setting a DMZ for the IP of your computer. Unless someone might know what ports are needed for Buildos. |

Re: Help! Can't use Updater to install new Kitchen!?
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried disabling all security & firewalls and plugged the laptop directly into the cable modem instead of using my wireless router; however, I still couldn't run Updater. It just tells me "Error - Can't connect to the server".
Anybody else out there have the same problem, or another solution? TIA, Lars |

Re: Help! Can't use Updater to install new Kitchen!?
Find me in Chat, please. If you can't use chat, send me a PM.
Generally, if you are having trouble w/ Updater you have proxy/firewall troubles. Can you get to www.ppckitchen.org? If so, the server is up , and your problem is your proxy configuration.

Got it!
Following our PM exchange, I tried opening MSIE instead of Firefox (my default); sure enough, that did the trick! I guess Updater and BuildOS just needed to have IE running in the background.
So, I'm now running a new 5067 Kitchen on my Titan, and liking it so far! Thanks again for your help. Best regards, Lars |

You can't. Try running IE first (configurred so it works), then running BuildOS...
