Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

I didn't get a chance to build the stock rom nbh yet, but colonel did look at the carrier parts and it should be in the kitchen soon.

Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

I'd say about 1/2 hour for the ROM installs, that with having all the files already downloaded.

Add another 10 minutes with the intermediate Black Pill load.

Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

Thanks ImCokeMan, I downloaded the stock ROM for safe keeping.

ColdMogul, could you point me to which 'how to' instructions you used to flash your 6800.

I searched the forums and there are many out there. Thanks.

Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

I'm new to this, but thought that this thread would be appropriate for my question. You guys seem to be very good at manipulating these phones to do about what every you want. I have an Alltel PPC6800 and just flashed it with the latest ROM. There is a cellular company in Oklahoma that offers this same phone for their service. Their name is Pioneer Cellular and their web site is ptci.com if you need to see. They have much better coverage in my area than Alltel. I don't want to purchase another phone and would like to use Alltel's ROM and Radio versions since Pioneer's are older. I talked to a tech and he said that they get their phones through a third party who programs the phones for them. He also said that they have no way to flash this phone with the files specific for their system. Is there any way you guys could help me figure out what I need to do to make this Alltel phone work with Pioneer's service? Thanks in advance....

Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

After flashing my 6800 with 2.4 unlocker, 3.35 radios, and No2Chem 5067, I now have an extended_ROM on my device.

Did I do something wrong?

It looks like the extended_ROM is from system memory (64k) now it is 45K.

Can I partition it back to just one ROM or am I messed up?

Everything else works fine.

I did have to go back to No2Chem 5060 because the EPST file would not load. It was act like it would load, and then the file would just go away, back to the keypad dailer.

Re: US non-major CDMA carrier question for Flashing ROM.

Looks like I can skip pointing out the instruction threads I used. lol

I'm not familiar with the particulars of those ROM's, so I'm going to abstain from putting my ignorance on display.

Glad everything is working fine though.
