Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
Good question, I think it's an HTC dialer. I can dial *228 fine but basically it almost sounds like a Sprint male operator voice saying it's an "Invalid code or number" leading me to believe the phone isn't on VZW's network.
I've been thru the ringer trying to upgrade to any of dcd's roms after I was having problems with 2.3.2 which had been running nearly perfect for 2-3 months. I thought I'd upgrade to the latest and that's when activesync stopped working. I finally went back to VZW stock, got a new a-key and then tried to go back to the later roms because my first attempt got screwed when I tried the Sprint 3.35 update and let the customizations run. When I did that, *228 wouldn't work and I heard the same male voice I'm hearing now saying *228 is an invalid code or number. My latest steps were Stock -> 3.27 Radio (audio broke w/ dcd 3.0.4) -> dcd 3.0.4 w/ vzw customizations -> 3.37 radio via sd flash. |

Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
My guess is that since you used an incompatible radio, 3.27, with dcd 3.x.x, you fubared it. There is now a sticky on xda titan upgrading that shows radio/rom compatibility. Going back to stock and starting over is your best option.

Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
Went from stock to -> Olipro 2.40 unlocker -> Radio 3.37 from SD -> dcd 3.0.4vzw and still the same message, that *228 isn't a recognized code or number from what sounds like the sprint guy (based on the fact that I heard the same voice after I went to 3.35 and accidentally let sprint customizations run).

Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
I'm not sure, I just looked on xda for radio 3.37 and grabbed the file to update. The file was called Titan_Radio_3.37.20.rar. I don't think it's the sprint radio. When I did this update I got the plain jane radio 3.37 which I updated over the vzw stock. The phone of course wouldn't boot but it didn't matter, I did power+camera+reset and loaded dcd 3.0.4vzw.

Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
This thread is geared toward a 6700 but I noted most of the differences for a 6800. Follow the parts about a prl upload msl crack if you let the sprint cabs run and the MIP edits back to verizon. This will manually restore your phone as this is the process I use when I convert a sprint 6800 over to VZW and data and everything is 100% functional with this method. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20090 Do not erase your Ha and AAA secrets unless the HA shows "secret" (sprintized) instead of a bunch of garbled characters (vzw).

Re: Verizon: Radio 3.3x on xv6800 and *228 doesn't work
Great. So I put the new PRL on there, then I was able to dial *228,1. The phone programmed successfully but now it says its on the "Preferred System" instead of Verizon. Looks like it also needs a new a-key as I'm now getting the verizon lady telling me the phone isn't authorized. How do I resolve the preferred system issue prior to getting a new a-key.

I've been plagued with the roam triangle too on my mogul to vzw converts. Did you do the DMU so your data will work? 51020 is the latest vzw evdo prl the 50960 is an old one in that thread but any vzw prl will connect you with a *228 then it will auto download the newest one for your phone.
