Hi, After a brutal (2 days of lost work) round with my USCC 6800, I cannot dial ##000000 to re-enter the data for: mdn, msid, home sid / nid.

I was able to do this previously. Also, dialing ##3424 puts the phone in diag mode but the screen disappears after about 5 seconds. I did manage to get into Bitpim and replace the 41.key file. But again after a reboot, ##000000 does not bring up the dialogue so I can re-enter the important info to get data working.

I’m in an uncomfortable situation as this is a company issued unit. Thanks.

might be the dialer you have installed, some break the ##CODES
you can access EPST via /Windows Folder to edit MDN/MSID

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Thanks for the reply. I've entered all the data in manually via the EPST. I've gone thru every screen carefully and everything checks out.

The one thing I didn't have when I posted earlier was the home sid / nid but I've entered that in the #1 slot now but still no data after a reset.

I get a cannot connect for unknown reason error as the phone tries #777.

The phone works to make calls tho.

Thots?

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

I hope I’m not on a rabbit trail. The first page of this guide didn’t ask to record the info on the EPST>Security page. My security page looked like this:
HDR AN AUTH User Id (LONG) : msid***@uscc.net
HDR AN AUTH Password (LONG) : blank
PPP USER ID : blank
PPP PASSWORD : blank
In another post I noticed that someone said the mdn is used in all fields.
So if you number was 555-555-1212 it would look like this:
1) 5555551212@uscc.net
2) 5555551212
3) 5555551212@uscc.net
4) 5555551212
I’ve tried this and other combos without success. How exactly should this page look? All the other EPST settings look OK as far as I can tell.
It might be asking a lot but if someone can post screen caps of their EPST pages for USCC, I can hopefully find my way out of trouble.
I haven’t had data transfer for a couple of days now… USCC has no restore rom so I’m way bummed.
Any help is appreciated.

i don't see anything like that at all! and i don't see a security tab either
This post says to use the ESN (I thought it was the msid???).

Is this right?

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Chaser thanks that FINALLY did the trick. That info should be in the very first post. It takes a lot of time and reading to track down all the pitfalls I encountered (thru varios steps) that were'nt explained in detail in the first post.

Maybe I'll put together another guide that explains what I had to do to get mine going...

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

I have tried the code many times to get into the epst on the uscc phone, I just got it in today and they made me run the *228, this might have changed it. I can only get into the screen by typing the ##728, I then tried the 000000 code and any other combo of 6 numbers 9s 8s 7s ect. anyone know what the code is to get into the epst. I want to make sure I can get into this before I start.

If anyone knows how to get in let me know.
