DCD 3.0.4 Intergrated for PPCKITCHEN

I ran across this and thought I would toss it over here for some to look into. I do now it works well so far for me. I've tried every integration for DCD they've posted and this is definetly one of the easiest to work with. Then ofcouse he got major cool points since he is actually using an image I created with his work

DCD 3.0.4 Integrated by xx_Demon_xx
It's not suprising how well liked the DCD products are and now with the new ppcgeeks kitchen there are plenty wanting to import DCD's work into the new kitchen.

I have tried a few other integrated versions and found it to be a little annoying with all the errors I was recieving, so I took on the task of attempting to make an error free integration.

There are a few things I feel everyone needs to know.

1. DCD's OEM folder has been left alone. All his original choices are still there. No need in stripping something he worked hard to build.

2. I have noticed that some apps wont function without the .net package installed. I attempted to use just the one that DCD provided but I was getting certificate errors. So you NEED to select the package supplied by ppckitchen if you want to run software that requires .net

3. Select your carrier both from the drop down menu and from the selections list. When you finally start cooking the kitchen you will be prompted to overwrite some of the carrier files with DCD's file. Please click "Yes" to ensure you get everything needed for your carrier package.

4. DCD supports more carriers than the ppcgeeks kitchen does. You can attempt to cook for another carrier other than ones supported by ppcgeeks but beware you will need to select a carrier from the kitchen drop down aswell. I'm not sure how this will turn out for you if you select 2 different carriers. My suggestion would be to only work with the 4 supported by ppcgeeks at this time. I will investigate this further but not for a few days.

5. Depending on what selections you choose you may be prompted to overwrite certian files. Please read the prompt carefully and use common sense when choosing yes or no.

6. I have added some images to the splash folder in ppcgeeks kitchen. Please copy the images I post and paste them into the splash folder to avoid loading errors. The base selections call for the 2 images I included. One is named htc+icon.png - put it in the 240x320 folder. The other is named black6.1welcome.96.png - put it in the 320x320 folder.

7. Copy DCD_3.0.4_integrated_Selections.txt that is attached to your projects folder.

8. Ofcourse download DCD_3.0.4_integrated.rar and move or copy it to your kitchen folder.

9. If you are not sure where these folders reside you need to go to ppcgeeks and READ the directions. Then possibly read them again in an hour or two to make sure you fully understand before venturing off into a ROM upgrade.

12. When cooking write down any errors recieved and post them so I can continue to persue an error free integration

Last but not least, I will include a copy of the buildlog of the build I'm running on my Titan right now. You can see all of my selections and any errors or prompts I recieved. You will notice no errors only prompts.

Re: DCD 3.0.4 Intergrated for PPCKITCHEN

Thanks for making another attempt at this - I think they must of added a dependency to the latest kitchen builds as I'm getting the same Required Module not in Project error for the HTC Sliding Sound Control Panel. Please add the attached to your RAR file with the folder structure and that should fix the issue.

I cannot select ".net" in the kitchen. Is there anything I need to select first for it to allow me.

Thanks!

If you feel you need to select the button - go do this first. What happens is you selected something that made it a requirement.

Please include the link to the original xda thread. My response belongs over there, but I couldn't find the thread.

This is both good and bad...good in case DCD made certain modifications, bad in that it will cause compatibility issues w/ other OEM packs. You may want to do some work here.

Case in point.

I haven't looked at your config.txt or DCD's kitchen, but that sounds like something is wrong in one or the other. When done properly there shouldn't be any requests for overwriting carrier files, and certainly not in the direction stated.

You can fix this by modifying the option.xml. If you mismatch the dropdown to the picklist, you'll get both sets of customizations - with one (the later alphabetically) overwriting the other.

Mind if we add your splashes to the library?

Re: DCD 3.0.4 Intergrated for PPCKITCHEN

No I don't mind at all. I constructed/modified them for all of us to use not just myself. I have a few other splashes I can post to see if you would like to add those aswell.

I will PM xx_Demon_xx and see if he will work on this further. I do know I have no issues thus far using his files, but I definetly trust your opinion of how things should be when integrating. Hell... maybe I'll try one myself, but then again, so many have now it's almost a waste of effort. I'd be the only one running it ...lol

Sorry about not including the link.... I go a little stupid from time to time

A browsable library of splash and animation screens is coming to a theatre near you. Not sure how user contributions will be submitted yet - probably a dedicated upload location. Will let you know.
