Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

There are times when I try to use the Mogul after the 3.35 install (all sprint customizations were allowed to install) and it is almost frozen. What I mean is if I click on something (or use the hard buttons / DPad) it can take 3 - 5 seconds to respond or not at all. This has happened multiple different times and a soft reset has always fixed it.

Only 3rd party apps installed are: SPB Pocket+, Treveler & Diary, Google Maps, Live Search, Total Commander, PHM Regedit.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue or had any advice as to how to remedy it.

Thanks,
Ciege...

I am having the same issue as well. I have noticed that when I reboot I have 22MB of ram free, as I open and close programs the memory is not being released. I have nothing running at the moment, but I have only 12mb left. Something is definitely up with the new RAM in regards to memory issues.

Re: Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

The memorly manager stinks in this update, as far as I can tell. I installed my normal software suite after installing the new rom and realised that my device would only start with 15.12MB RAM free. That made Netfront and the the Opera 9.33 pretty much unusable so I've been forced to install progs again one by one to find what could have been using that memory.

Though, with N2C having updated his 6.1 ROM with the 3.35 stock ROM, I don't see any reason to continue using 3.35.

EDIT:
I believe I found the memory problem. S2U2 with an animated .gif background will eat between 4-5MB of RAM. Using a standard .jpg will decrease it something reasonable, like 1MB or something. The .gif was only 533kB as well, so I'm not sure why exactly it is eating so much memory.

Re: Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

After 3 days of full use. I too have experienced some negative aspects of 3.35 compared to a very fast 2.17 with 1.40 radio.

I get lag in IE, certain system redraws of icons, menus. They used to be instant, now once in awhile usually if you don't softreset daily, after a few hours of use, memory does not get returned to the heap, and system slows to a crawl...

I've noticed this as well. I updated to no2chem's latest ROM and so far no issues at all.

I have noticed issues also...PIE is extremely slow while attempting to scroll on a website such as PPCGeeks, whereas it scrolled fine on 2.17...This is the biggest issue I have with this new Rom, PIE websurfer is frustrating

Re: Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

I must be odd, because I have no issues (so far) with the new ROM, my PIE is fast. I did go to ppcgeeks.com and it scrolled fine for me. I am thinking about not getting Skyfire or Opera Mobile because PIE is working fine for me. I am running the stock update ROM, nothing fancy on the device.

I'm in the same boat.

I didn't let Sprint's customizations run though, I don't know if that's the culprit. I didn't see the point when you have Sprint Nav either way and about 4MB more RAM...

Re: Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

i would advise running no2chems most recent especially because it has wm6.1 and has really good memory and power management. but if you dont feel like that then i advise doing a search for oxios memory use its memoery reclaimer. it works on every rom ive tried.

Re: Mogul slows to a crawl at times with 3.35

I have another problem I have 21-22 free ram before IE but when loaded and surfing it drops 4-5 free ram, this was not a problem with previous roms, maybe trying to get rev A to work they distroyed the memory surfing. I think I had about 3-4 megs usage before when IE was on 2.17 and leaked rom.
