Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
This is a lot like the whole group of iPhone haters that were saying 'it doesn't have this/that', when it was never advertised to have those things! I think Sprint delivered exactly what they promised (although several months out from when it should have been!!!).
Thank God/Buddah/Allah/Bono for DCD and the rest of the gang that make our phone the best around!!! BTW - if I ever found a phone that had 'this/that', I'd buy it up baby! |

Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
So far the new ROM rocks, call me what you will (I could care less), but Live Search GPS is awsome, PIE is blazing fast, the HTC Task Manager is just as good as the other out there. But I do agree with some of the other here, people will whine about anything. Oh well.

As for 6.1... why don't you do a search on google for it.. your only really missing out on threaded SMS... thats about it. WM6.1 is really only a minor cosmetic fix at best, and most of the "features" only show on SmartPhones.. not PocketPCs. What you really want is WM7 which isn't anywhere near released.. for anything. My PIE is faster than it has ever been (Along with everything else). I went to the site you mention and it loaded the whole page in about 10 seconds.. scrolling.. ya it was a bit slow, but not painfully slow or unreasonable. It might have something to do with the fact that www.thestreamcenter.com is over 1MB of primarily text. If I go to "OH" for Ohio, the page is much smaller.. and it's much faster. Of course you could read the homepage where it recommends you use the PDA formatted site at http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/ where it wasn't any slower than any other site. I guess I fail to "See how slow it is now!". I know how to fix your problem however. Switch providers and get an iPhone... at least that way you won't have to worry about upgrades and ROMs and Flashing.. cause that isn't available. Problem Solved. phaZed |

Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
It's nice to see that there are folks who have benefited from the new ROM. I've not been so lucky. I didn't care that much about the GPS, as I already have a bluetooth GPS. I must admit that the GPS in the phone is pretty awesome, but I didn't really need it. But, what I now have a problem with is the RADIO. My phone won't work properly for calls or for data. I was getting 300k connections consistently before. Now, I can't establish a connection above 100k. It'll act like it's really kicking a** and then just stop and drop the connection. It'll show five bars, and drop to ZERO, and then back to five, then zero again. I've done all the resets, etc. It still doesn't work worth a crap. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh, but yes, the GPS really works well. |

Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
Are you really that attached to the Television that you want it by your side 24/7. Television sucks, and honestly television on a mobile sucks even worse.

Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
I agree that Sprint TV is crap. I don't get the fuss. Why not use orb or get a slingbox. I watch TV on my phone all the time. I tried the sprint tv when it worked and couldnt stand the quality. I also watch a youtube video every now and then.
I however don't go with the notion that this ROM is perfect. Every time a new ROM comes out leaked or not leaked the word out is " ooohhh, my device works perfectly" then give them a couple of weeks and you get threads like " don't understand why....?; please help with....? New rom freezes when....? This ROM is like every other WM ROM update. It has nothing to do with Sprint. WM sucks BUT it is the best of them out there. The iphone looks cool but lacks true functionality, symbian phones are well.... and Palm, ya I remember my Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone from Sprint back in 2000. |

Re: Rom 3.35 sucks and why!
To each his own opinion. As for me, I'm not in agreement with the OP. As mentioned by some of the other posters in this thread, no release will ever appease everyone. That being said, anything is better than nothing. And anything can be made into something better. That being said, No2Chem, DCD, and NexVision had ROMs out within hours of the release with everything the OP was asking for. The modified ROM's made it even faster and more feature rich than what HTC took months to build. You would think that HTC would have (and probably did) searched through PPCGeeks, XDA-Developers, and other forums to see what was being requested and how much more was being expected by the community from a building full of HTC developers. The sad part for HTC is that at these forums a handful of cooks are putting out extraordinary product that far surpasses their own and is providing the community with what they want.
Thank your stars that these guys are hanging their hats here and putting out this awesome stuff. A BIG thanks to the cooks. You are owed many props. When I say my prayers at night, I thank the Almighty for my family, my health, and the cooks. later, rw
