hELLO i am very new to this PPC world. i read a couple of forums before i did any thing to my Mogul and i changed the rom image a couple of times.the latest rom image i have is that 3.16 with tele nav and supposed REv. A after installing i notice net pages were popping up faster but wouldnt finish loading for a while and using the scroll bar lagged a lot it was frustrating so i tried to update to the new WM6.1 and kept recieving a 262 Error so i tried to down date back to 2.17...didnt work....then i tried to install custel v1.1 rom image and i keep getting that same Error message. i may be in the wrong place but i need some help i want this Rom out of my Mogul immediately...Thanx in advance.

Great news for the Mogul....now as a Touch owner we will now endure the long wait and all the bogus speculations as to when the new ROM will be released for the Touch...Aaaargh
Why could they not have done both at the same time? I travel alot and GPS is very important to me and having GPS imbedded in the Touch would be a dream for me and not having to carry my Bluelogger GPS all time....

well i hear its supposed to be pretty fast and close to hardline broadband. im not sure if im in the rite forum for this...but if any one can help with my installing a new rom image and 262 error.. trying to install custel v 1.1 os only rom image from 3.16](*,)

i hope no2chem took the day off work monday!!!! i want this new rom to be with 6.1 i have his rom now and everything is great except for my ie hanging at 5% but i think its just the radio ](*,)

Wow this is some awesome news - I wish they would have let it go over the weekend - its so rainy out here and looking for something to do. Do you guys think this will improve out video playback?

can any one help me with my situation i dont wana sound too needy but i woould really like some help if any one can spare. im tryin to changemy rom either back to 2.17 or to custel v1.1 every time i run the Rom update utility it goes to the rgb screen then the installation bar then i get an 262Error message. how can i install either rom image???

Monday cannot get here fast enough. Ohh well. As for the email having the instructions........Well Tier2 just got a TON of new reps so not everyone is familiar with a ROM update. As to the copyright date that was already explained.

with all of the hype on when the new rom will be available I say at somepoint someone will guess right even if they just made up the date. If the new rom includeds WM6.1 then i say it was a good move to delay the rom and include it. If there is no wm6.1 then i think htc and sprint at a bunch of mother you know whats...

That is not the OS upgrade. That is just an upgrade that makes WM compatibile with the new Office 2007 formats.

UPDATE - The last screenshot says 3.10, so maybe they are just piecing together old screenshots to create this page. If they end up releasing the beta we've had, I'm going to be seriously pissed off.

Amen to that. If it happens, The only thing left for me to do is either A. sell mine and go back to Verizon (shudders at the thought :banghead: ), or B. Through mine through a sprint store window (evil laugh ensues :twisted:) and pay the 50 bucks for the insurance to get another one.

not to seem like a smart a** but this is the thread for awaiting the new rom and were too anxious to talk about anything else lol.. but with just a mild search on the site you will find plenty of downgrade info.. about reflashing the original bootloader and radio/os roms..

The (Search) button shall instill power upon thee if thou shouldst wield it.

With rev. A i expect to download the entire internet in less then 1 second. anything less is an attack on my person. If sprint does not deliver this kind of speed then it truely would not be a "sprint speed" network nor will it be the fatest mobile broadband network on the planet.

Crying laughing ...thats funny, but to add to that, if the speed of rev. A on the leaked ROM is indicitive of what we can expect on the Official ROM then it's a huge disappointment. The rev. A on the leaked ROM was not impressive to me at all.

consistent reports from users of both here and xda-devs shows an increase from average 400-600kbps to Rev A speeds of 800-1000kpbs. I pretty steadily get 800 whereas some have even reported 1300ish. Not all it was cracked up to be, but still a decent improvement. Hopefully the backend will be upgraded over time and we'll get those promised 3mbps bursts, but with wimax coming out, I doubt it.

*i was still awake at 6am trying to learn drupal, figured a few more hours couldn't hurt, but my logic was a little fuzzy from staying up so late :)

Rev. A isn't about huge downloads. Its main purpose it to increase upload bandwidth. A wireless network has bigger priorities than making awesome bandwidth meter sigs and downloading huge files to your phone.

Don't hold your breath for the 3mbps bursts, yes it's possible, you would have to be the only user on a EVDO cell channel and that channel would have to have 2 T-1s hooked up to it and have a good signal. In very heavy use areas the data channel has 2 t-1s but the average site only has one. I'm extremely pleased with 500k while driving down the highway doing 70, so much better than the 9.6kbps I used to have.

I've been really stoked on Rev.A so far. The only thing that bugs me is the connection drops I get now that I never use to. Hopefully the official ROM fixes that issue, as I've not found a 3.16 rom that didn't drop internet. Otherwise the speed is fantastic in my area. I've seen 350-400 kbps up, and over a 1mbps down. Very snappy for a cell phone indeed.

I hate to chime in late to this long thread that I haven't been keeping up with, but I wanted to confirm that this update will be out tomorrow. I know some are still skeptical, but I just read an internal communication that confirmed this update.

God I'm glad the official release is coming. I have the test version and it is making my ppc lock up alot now. And it won't even let me backdate the ROM image.

I Second you on that. I'm new here, but the roms I've tested use more memory then the official roms without any programs running. I Hope it comes out tomorrow..

question i still have the old rom my mogul came with, once i upgrade will the bluetooth fixes and the rest of the rom 2.19 be included into the new one or do i have to upgrade to 2.19 and the to 3. waterver number

Nah, each rom will still have the fixes of those before it so, you can skip from

2.09 to 3.xx and still have the fixes that were present in 2.17...
Each build up, improves upon the other.

I just ran it, kinda made me nervous for a min. It got stuck in 3 color until I loaded 2.17 back onto it. I think I will wait until 3.xx is a official release.
