Re: VetVito's Sexier Mobile (6.1.1)

I flashed to this one on Tuesday and have been very happy with the stability. Battery life has been about as good as any others - for me about two days on a charge. Original RAM free was 23.44 Mb.

I did run this with the Diamond Spb Mobile Shell mod 1.1 and generally saw about 14 Mb with all my emails loaded and various customizations including Touchpal. I love the dialer and the general speed of the device.

Looking forward to the Diamond ported OS when you get it done!

Ref new Schwartz, anyone else experience Comm Manager having squares instead of text? Buttons work, but without the icon to left, it's impossible to see what you are selecting. Thanks.

6.1 bug I think, did you set it up through outlook or 3rd party?

Thanks,

I released the Diamond OS for Vouge already, the Titan will get it with this other project.

Back in my PalmOS days, the fastest custom ROMs were the cleanest because the cache (like the pagepool) was larger. You then used the program memory, not ROM, for programs, customizations, etc.

If WM61 is similar, wouldn't it be best to keep the ROM basically free from any extra stuff and just make a large customization file for each flavor (RED, schwartz, black, blue) and make the pagepool larger?
Nah Microsoft stopped that after WM2003 or 2000. It was a slider that you could use to allocate Ram and storage.

Its always best to store on storage card.

Delete it, and spell gmail wrong. There is a guide somewhere.

Basically 6.1 is downloading settings automatically, so if you spell gmail wrong you could set it up yourself.

Nah... All defaults... Memory 20mb+

No biggie if other folks aren't running into problem, though.

So the pagepool uses RAM and not ROM? In that case, I guess that it doesn't matter whether a program is built into the ROM or not.

Re: VetVito's Sexier Mobile (6.1.1)

If the program is built into the ROM, it doesn't take up storage space, so yes, it does matter.

But who cares about storage space? We were talking about Program RAM, not Storage RAM.
