Re: Data on TELUS WM6.1 GPS roms
Question for all those on TELUS networks...do you all have a "username/password" filled in for the #777 data connection? (I don't at all which is why I'm wondering...but it works just fine.)

K just checking...thought maybe that might solve the problem for the ones running into data connectivity problems. Just doublechecking...for those running into problems, do you still have problems with the STOCK TELUS ROM?

Re: Data on TELUS WM6.1 GPS roms
Never had a problem with stock TELUS ROM, have had some problems with No2Chem kitchen and Zero problems with dcd 2.1.0 - 2.3.1 Kitchen. Once I've had a problem with the stock TELUS ROM on PPC6700 (Apache). When I called Telus data tech support, they informed me that 99.9% NOT required but if your having a problem this may help. Especially if your using data outside your local calling area.
username: areacodetelephonenumber@1x.telusmobility.com or areacodetelephonenumber@mb.telusmobility.com password: always your esn It has something about transfering your device to the right domain and billing/accounting. At work I use a Bell Mobility PPC6700 phone only for accessing a 10.???.???.??? address that has satellite RTK timing file. As this device dials #777 it's transfer into a private network. The unit can't be used for surfing, just for this application. username areacodetelephonenumber@?????.belmobility.com and password: esn Without this information it dose not connect. Re: Data on TELUS WM6.1 GPS roms
Okay, so now that I had thought I had the final answer as to how to get data working on telus... I got greedy and flashed to NexVsion's hybrid rom as I liked the sound of all of the apps he had in there. Went and did this same process and it did not work. Figured no big deal, I'll flash back to DCD's telus rom. I first relock and go back to Telus' standard WM6 image to be safe. Go back to DCD's 2.3.1 rom, do everything the same and I cannot get data working again....... argh what the heck... I had it working.
edit: lol I do distinctly remember in the Connectivity Manager it saying TELUS and then Activesync right underneath it. Is it possible it was just using my laptop's internet connection as I had it plugged in via USB and connected with Activesync. Would DCD's 2.3.1 rom do that by default? If so, the fact that it said Activesync right beneath TELUS would lead me to believe I never had it fixed at all... Last edited by brockmo; 02-25-2008 at 05:34 PM. |
