Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

I e-mailed HTC tonight, and they actually responded very quickly. It dosent say much, but here it is anyway:

"Thank you for your inquiry about the Sprint Mogul.


We understand that it is important you receive all the information to best utilize your smart phone. Sprint has taken complete ownership in supporting these devices and as per agreement with them we cannot provide you with any information related to the ROM update. When Sprint decides to launch update for their customers, they will contact us to host it on our web page. If you wish to know if and when your carrier will release the new operating system for your device, we suggest that you address your question to them, as they are the best source for this information."

So HTC is still putting this on Sprint. Ugh.

So...did you do what he said and address your question to Sprint...and if so, what is their answer?

Take note of official statements from Sprint and add 4 months before you hear about the next release expected release date. And when it does release, note it in your calendar as the official release date. These rules to live by will save you a great deal of stress and add years to your life.

But to be fair.....the previous release was never really expected to add Rev A, it was strongly hoped for but we knew it was going to be a minor release that might fix the BT issues. They have been talking about Q1 for this release since Q4 last year.

While I completely agree with that and apply it to most things in my life (like people who said GTA4 would be released in 07) I think its complete BS that HTC cant get it right with its damn device, WM6 was slated for release almost a year before it actually came out, I find it hard to believe that HTC was going to make the mogul a WM5 phone and even if they did make that stupid mistake, what the hell would make them think when they loaded the phone with WM6 that 17 mb of ram would be enough! Second it really busts my balls that it has taken them over a year to give us a functioning phone as we were sold. I was sold my Mogul with the promise that if I plunked down 500 bux for this thing I would have Rev A in a couple of months and a quicker than shit after a bran muffin phone. Not to even mention that the Mogul has been out long enough to where HTC will more than likely just ditch the phone, make a new one (ala the 700wx) and call it a day.

When I bought my phone last summer, the Sprint web site stated that Rev A and GPS would be available in September.
