yeah i thought it would be an entirely new ui for it. i guess not. its actually not even worth the trouble now that weve compared the two, if we can get it fine, if not i wont lose any sleep like i thought i would over this

I like the Palm threaded SMS version better, but it does have its bugs so I'll probably stick with the new WM 6.1 threaded sms. Here are some of my initial observations comparing the 2.

Pros:
Integrated
No backlash from Palm for using this
No small font issue like in the Palm version
Gives you a new message notification even if you left the conversation window open in the background
Has "My Text" which allows you to put commonly used phrases in a text message or create your own custom ones.
Appears to use standard cemail.vol for message storage. (Palm uses custom database)

Cons
No Smileys
Use of space not as efficient as Palm's
Probably can't package it for previous versions of WM5/6 like you can with the Palm version

strangely, i have no bugs whatsoever. I mean the small font in landscape isnt a issue for me, i dont have notifications issues, aside from the vibrate while in thread problem. I would be somewhere laying in a ditch without this proggie lol i text TOOOO damn much

no smileys..............ill be sticking with 6, i need smileys lol. im a newb at flashing so ill wait until official releases are released because even with the directions i dont know how to flash

i had no problem with 6.1 until i installed htc home and then it kept saying that i had 1 message, even after soft reset.

Maybe the newer version of 6.1 might work better but i soooo dont want to flash my phone at work LOL (btw i am downloading it right now LOL)

I've been a fan of the palm sms since the 6700 days when you had to delete stuff and add files into folders but i must say 6.1 built in sms is nice.

I think it will better when it officially released. If it makes it into the next Official ROM Update for the Mogul. Question is, will it some storage on our devices by now being included in the OS?

I installed the Palm Threaded SMS on my Mogul, running OEM ROM. Looks good. One thing though, I no longer receive the audio notification when I get a new SMS. Any my suggestions? Thanks.
