It just looks like WM6 with a bunch of add-ins.

I'll wait for the official release. I've seen 6.1 Pro internally here at Microsoft and it looks nothing like that.

ditto. i'm pretty indifferent on the leaked 6.1 rom; there's really nothing there that's too special. only texting; task manager; a little speed increase. the bgr video / pictures here http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/...o-walkthrough/ (although smartphone vid) was what I was looking forward to!

oh well. happy with rev a and gps now!

What's the ETA on that being dropped for us to use? Late Q1? Q2?

There is no guarantee that the HTC 6800 will even get WM6.1 so you can wait all you want but you may never get it

But yeah, all the HTC Home stuff on his video are add ons, so don't go by that. Go by:

Threaded SMS
Voice Command confirmation works with BT
Way better Task Manager
Makes the 6800 quicker

I personally think it's fake. Like you said, WM6 with a bunch of add-ins and hex editing About screens and such.
The version/build number isn't consistent with any CE version I've ever seen.
The performance improvement could simply be less bloatware and background services running.

Well I personally think you're a fool for believing that but that's what's great about having opinions.

The threaded SMS and the fact that the Memory control panel doesn't have an option to close programs anymore - instead opting for a separate Task Manager.

Just because the CE version doesn't match anything you've ever seen, doesn't mean its fake. It means its unreleased...

That boy genious video is with a SmartPhone, and is a Q. You can't go by boy genious video for a Pocket PC.

just my 2 cents. I'm not waiting either.

If it wasn't for the threaded SMS, I might be inclined to agree. However, the threaded SMS isn't something that can be easily ported just like the HTML enabled WM6 Outlook can't easily be ported to WM5.
